instead of something like a new years event, the atelier 801 staff do something different:

tigrounette, personified as a mouse, is hurrily working on an update for Transformice which will be launched on the exact strike of midnight on New Years...while not realizing he just fucked up the spelling of a part of the code and submitted it. this mistake causes an infinite loop to occur, which sucks Tigrounette out of existence and proceeds to wreck the time-space continuum inside of Transformice.

mice must work together to collect lost parts of Transformice in the forms of non-tradable relics on various planetary locations, and place them in a wormhole at the end of each map. i'd imagine it would involve ARG techniques too. for example, messages hidden in forum announcements, forms of code, riddles, hidden videos and sounds, bots which when whispered post something. etc
