Too explain this, I will use Haruhitastic's username, there would be some sort of option to set your nickname, so Haruhitastic possibly would use "Haruh"
And so if someone types in "Haruh" it would be gold font, very simple, and if you have any suggestions, put them in the comments, I will possibly add it to the OP, and give you credit.

It would be highly unlikely that two people had the same nickname, but if both people had the same nickname, they would have to type another nickname, but if they don't have another one, then idk, lemme think about it;

no but what if somebody was playing in a room w/ somebody w/ a short name [ex: pie] and one of their [first person] nicknames was 'pie' as well? if somebody was talking to either of them and used 'pie', would both of them get notified?

I think I made a solution to the problem, Fibs, possibly, if you had like a + for example, it will only go gold for the person who has the shorter name.

better idea! whenever you want to write a username, you write @ in front of it
so the system automatically detects the name you want from the list of players in this room, and you can select one.

The other account will see the comment highlighted in yellow if their name is exactly "Fibs", or if they are also highlighted with "fibs".

I wouldn't mind if this were to be a thing. Though there's tons of nicknames shared by certain amounts of mice, it's not really highly unlikely. I know quite a few of Draco's, and a few of Leaf's. There's tons of Brian's out there and there's a lot of users with "wolf" in their name. With all the similar nicknames, I still wouldn't mind this. if I shared a nickname with something that's commonly said, I'd just not put that on the list and just catch it in chat like how I currently would. I used to have "dl" highlighted on IRC, but I removed it eventually because most of the time I'd get highlighted over Dropbox links instead of messages for me.
