Without magic, we mice would not be able to get the thing we seek the most. You know, cheese!

We already know that we get our power from our wonderful goddess Elisah. But what is the extent of our power? Where did it begin?

There are 4 basic forms our magic comes in. Normal magic, Hard Magic, Divine magic, and Transforming magic.

I think it's safe to assume our first form of magic was learning the Art of Transforming.
http://i.imgur.com/0KP5xuL.png?1
It only includes manipulating our squishy mouse bodies instead of manifesting objects from thin air which could take more willpower.
(This is backed up by I'm pretty sure this is how the game started out. Or was planned to at least.)

However Divine magic sounds even more ancient, does it not? Are we mice unlocking our ancestors most complex forms of magic? It's the most powerful magic known to date. Could Divine magic have been the first form of magic that got simplified over time? Are we just now getting a better relationship with our Goddess that enables us to use Divine magic?
Edit: Divine magic is clearly the most simple magic preformed by shamans, not complex. I mean look, one nail that has one function, it serves its purpose well if done correctly(of course the rotation nails too). Sounds quite possible it was the first shaman magic ever used. Normal magic comes next in line as shamans achieved two more nail types to help out with their builds. And lastly Hard magic had to come afterwards with the powerful totems able to be manifested.

Where do our misc. Skills fit into play? Anyone on any level of magic(except Transforming), can possess these skills and they themselves increase in power. Our magic experts have categorized them into Trees which labels our shamans as a Spiritual Guide, a Wind Master, a Mechanician, a Wildling, and a Physicist. What are the origins of Skills? Are they ancient as well?

What of our ability to create new places(maps)? Is this considered magic? It's very powerful as well.

What about consumables? We transform these cards into physical things.

It's not the best I've done, but thank you!!

Participation in this thread really helps me flesh out the story for my tfm fan comic~c:

No, this is an analysis of how magic works or is in the Transformice world.

I have theorized Transforming is the first magic ever used.

A. When did transformice become a religion?

B. You made transformice sound like a new Disney movie knock-off.

Um, nothing was mentioned as religion. Even though there are godesses, it doesn't mean that all gods are religious gods.
The Disney movie part is also unnecessary.

Anyway, this theory sounds pretty plausible. However, the skill trees Wildling and Physicist came out in 2014(?), much later. The Epiphany Event mentioned the Shaman Queens - The Mechanic, the Mistress of Wind and the Spiritual Guide. Those three queens could've trained each other and eventually discover their power(s) and expand them until they got to the maximum (the cloud, angel wings and eagle eye). I'm thinking maybe the Shaman Queens of Wildling and Physicist were surviving together, not knowing their power and skill until they met the three other Shaman Queens. After discovering their purpose, the five queens brought the skill trees of Wildling and Physicist forward.

As to the Normal, Hard and Divine magic, I'll think about that. I might edit this post and add more.

Nice thread but I'm pretty sure not even the admins know the answers to these questions because their lore was so half-baked up to adventures lmao.

Aww man, I really wish I finished the event to get info on the queens, I didn't know they existed. ; n;

The lack of responses on this thread is disappointing. Or maybe it's because not everybody has the thirst for world building I do.

I feel that your original, now crossed-out theory about divine was more or less right. Naturally "new developments" and "new sciences" would be convenient for shams, in a similar way that computing has made life more convenient for doctors.

Yeah the announcements are pretty much what supply us with the story (not so much the actual event unless there's some enigma).

Also I like to imagine that mice are beings that are made from combined body parts instead of a singular 'whole'. This is how I justify transform maps and awkward clothing/layer errors.
I mean this:

http://i.imgur.com/bSGNVab.png
http://i.imgur.com/QjefM6J.png
http://i.imgur.com/96UWIDN.png

Another way I justify these errors is by theorizing that outfits are just items that mice strap on to their body parts, essentially 'assembling' them by themselves. For example, one part of the henchman fur is strapped on to the leg and the other is strapped on to the back (I imagine with Velcro lmao), so they look connected when a mouse is upright and that's what it's supposed to convey, but once a mouse ducks, you can see the assembly.

I also like this idea that mice aren't one whole jointed body with all limbs being intrinsically connected like humans because it allows for some comic relief and cute lore as well as justifications for what was mentioned above.
If I sound confusing this is basically what I mean:

I don't have my tablet so this looks messy but you get the point ahah.

Ooo very interesting. I think that reminds me of a part from an ep on the tfm show, it was quite awhile ago though. Someone's tail got misplaced or something like that.
---
I like to think the mice were created from bubbles and when they die they return back to that state. Or bubbles are their soul allowing them to transport from place to place~c:

There are mice (game characters) and observers (players). Observers control mice, put them in different circumstances (maps) and often control the mice, and guide them. [Looks like experiments with lab rats, tbh.]

The mice have singular body, however, on the screens of observers they are displayed schematically. Many observers have old and slow machines and made the basic mice models to increase the performance during livestreams. Also we can see the behaviour of mice in their natural habitat on specially recorded videos (TFM show episodes). They are pretty much 'whole' there.

Aha! So this event has confirmed some doubts I've had about other creatures getting power and that Elisah does care about the other critters.

I'm such a nerd.

What are the meanings of badges?? Maybe the queens set up weekly events to challenge mice from around the world to earn titles for the kingdom, be honored with badges, and much more...

There are multiple rounds to challenge our skills, wit, and our desperation. The more you win , the more you advance in the leaders. Plus the queens give everyone gift bags every time they win.
