While the current, forum-based map submission format has been used for a while now, I feel like this can be revamped to an in-game process that keeps map makers anonymous.
How this would work: in the map editor menu, you would have the option to submit the map for the category you would feel appropriate. The map would then be sent directly to the appropriate map crew anonymously. The reviews would still be posted in submission thread as usual but the submission process itself would be entirely in-game and anonymous. How this would help: many people, myself included, feel that maps are not always looked at impartially, with the more "big name" makers being given more attention and time through the reviewing process, and this is reflected when more mediocrish maps by the big mapmakers start appearing in rotation. I feel like an anonymous review process would be more impartial and possibly change how maps in general are looked at. But wait? wouldnt an anonymous process make it easier for people to swamp mapcrew with multiple submissions when they are not allowed to do so? Not necessarily! While the reviews themselves would continue to be anonymous, the map crew would still be able to see which maps have been submitted by the same player but only within a single session/checkpoint.
While it might take a bit of work and coding to implement such a submission process to the game I still feel that the improvement would be worth it. Let me know what you think below!

I don't submit maps myself but I think what your are proposing is probably a good idea. If the process is not anonymous people will feel like they are being pushed away, subjugated, ignored etc. just because their map is not in full rotation. Which I can't blame them for feeling that way if their map is actually good.

Big names are given more attention not just for their content, but their notoriety within the community. I would not be surprised if these big names also have friends in high places either. All that is speculative, but it is something to be expected in general, if not Transformice. An anonymous map submission process should be a thing. Unless I'm missing something./support

I'd love a proper map submission system rather than just relying on a set of forum threads, it's definitely possible and would make things better for all parties.

However keeping it anonymous would be a step backwards - there's a lot of situations we need to know who made a map (in the case of copy maps, discussing things with the map's creator before perming or to generally improve the map, etc.) which is needed an awful lot.

Is this like an event map suggestion thing? Because I got an idea for it...

If not, can somebody post a link to the thread? Thanks!

I may be wrong here, but maps that reach a discussion phase are usually in a "category" of sorts all on their own, so hypothetically a map that went into discussion would no longer be anonymous. As far as copy maps are concerned, wouldn't it be easy to contact a map's original creator? Unless you're referring to copies of maps that have not been permed, in which case I suppose it could still be possible to check if two maps were made by the same person (who would still remain anonymous).

The problem you describe is that you feel the current Map crew is not objectively judging maps. Wouldn't that mean the problem lies with the Mapcrew members rather than with the system? Submitting maps anonymously won't really work if the map makers can still contact Mapcrew members with the codes of their maps. It'll just take one whisper to say: "hey @1234567 is my map" and all anonymity is gone. So I don't think this is a good suggestion.

Judging maps will always be a matter of taste and opinion in the end, so all that really can be done is making sure the Mapcrew team has enough different opinions that balance each other out.
