One of my friends said that it happened to him to.

This has to be a bug.
This happened after my first soul mate died/left, so I got a new one, so maybe there's some fault in the coding regarding that, I'm not sure.

the event is over so that means that the bug has gone aswell

Happend to me I got super annoyed because people told me it wasn't possible. I know all is well because the event is over but I hope there won't be further bugs in other events
