I think you should be required to provide an e-mail address, as well as having to verify it (you get an e-mail and have to click a link) when creating a Transformice account, and you're not allowed to use that account unless you've verified that e-mail address. I also think they should block common fake e-mail addresses from popular sites like this, this, this, and this, or just have a whitelist with common and popular e-mail services such as Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Zoho Mail, Outlook, et cetera, and only allow e-mail addresses from those e-mail services. Or they could, you know, just not care about blacklisting or whitelisting any e-mail services and just require any type of e-mail address. This would help prevent bots, spammers, trolls, et cetera, and alternate accounts to exploit the game. I'm sure that 30% (totally accurate statistic) of the Transformice acocunts are spammers, trolls, bots, and alternate accounts. |

There's already a place where you need to verify your account in order to change your password. Either way you're still going to need to verity your account after you've made the account |

Gabeyly a dit : I know you have to verify an e-mail address to change your password, but you don't have to have a verified e-mail address just to play the game (not talking about guests). You don't need to verify your account after you've made it. |

Meli and Tig are totally opposed to adding a mandatory e-mail registration system when registering because they think less people will register if they have to fill in their e-mail. It was brought up inside staff in the past, but they're firmly against it, even though in my eyes it can solve a lot of on-going problems. |

How will verifying your email stop trolls and spammers or whatever else? There are plenty of unused email account names, somebody could just make different emails for each account anyways. |

nibblerrat a dit : Some spammers won't bother to create accounts when they require validation of an e-mail address. Also, you can't make tons of accounts in a short amount of time like you can without having to verify your e-mail address. Bots can't automatically make e-mail accounts and verify them, as far as I know, as well. |

Phonemouse a dit : Although your reason is valid, it wont actually stop spammers if they're desperate enough. There is an automatic email creation website which I can't remember the name of. It gives you access to that email which you're given for 10 minutes, and then it deletes itself. That's more than enough time to register for a tfm account. So yes whilst most people would be discouraged from the email bit, they will ALWAYS find a way around it. That's the way of this world really. ): /no support |

While I still agree that verifying your e-mail address to your account upon log-in should exist, I also agree with Shadebluhart, as making fake email acc's, verifying and doing whatever is less than a 10 min work. All in all, I do remember someone suggest this in the older Html forum, and I believe it was Meli who went totally against it.. don't remember much of it though |

Although I don't support a required email validation upon signing up, I do think they should make the email option more obvious after signing up instead of tucking it away in the menu option. Perhaps in the chat for new players, any color text could appear saying "Use and validate your email for extra cheese and future opportunity of changing your password" or something roughly like that. /halfsupport |

/Half Support It MIGHT stop more accounts being made just to troll, but there are still ways for them to get around it. Dernière modification le 1455800280000 |

Sonicherois a dit : As I said, bots can't make e-mails, as far as I know. Besides, as I also said, spammers can't just create tens of hundreds of accounts in a short period of time. It'd take 10 minutes to make one account instead of 10 minutes to make 30 accounts. Whatever, I guess it will never happen since the developers want as many players as possible, even if those players are bots, spammers, hackers, trolls, and alternate accounts. Haruhitastic a dit : As I said, they could block e-mail addresses from those sites. Besides, it'd take more work and effort to validate an e-mail addess every time you sign up, so trolls, spammers, etc. might just not bother. Dernière modification le 1455814440000 |

Phonemouse a dit : http://10minutemail.com/10MinuteMail/index.html As said before, an email can be randomly generated and used for 10 minutes. 30 accounts could still be made in 10 minutes using this. |

Shadebluhart a dit : Yes, I know what 10 Minute Mail is. Guess you didn't catch my edit. It still takes more time and effort to do it. Maybe it wouldn't fully secure the game from hackers, trolls, spammers, alternate accounts, et cetera, of course it wouldn't, but at least it would help by a decent amount. |

Phonemouse a dit : Bots can absolutely make emails, very quickly too. It's very easy to have a system that generates emails on a custom domain/mailserver so it wouldn't be detected as easily as 10minutemail or alternatives. It's also very easy to just sign up gmail accounts in less than 30 seconds automatically. This is all irrelevant anyway as people can sign up multiple Atelier accounts to a single email address. |
