Okay, this has been on my mind since I started playing tfm. I would LOVE there to be separate/specific rooms for new players especially to learn how to shaman. When I started I would have loved this, and I'm sure a lot of new people (and experienced players) would like this. I'm sick of seeing so many people talk so negatively to new players when it's their turn to sham, because they can't complete the map or because they die when the sham builds wrong.

I also think that this would be a good thing for future events. A majority of the time I play an event map, a newer player is shaman, thus we're unable to complete the level. I think overall having a legitimate training area for new players would be a huge plus to the game!

- I posted this in the wrong forum originally, so this is from the last thread to make more sense of what I mean

No, I'm talking about a training like a tutorial. Anyone can go to a room and do that, but they don't understand what they're doing if they're not being told? I've watched people that still don't understand how to connect boards even with the new update, where when you pick something to summon, say a plank, it shows you to use c for a yellow dot, v for blue ect. But they're still not getting it because that's too vague for a lot of these players. And even when we try to explain to them in chat how to do simple things, they still aren't grasping it. And it's a lot of pressure if you ask me, when you're being timed on a map and have quite a few ignorant players calling you cuss words because you're new or inexperienced ;(

Would this tutorial not be sufficient in combination with a private room where they can try out everything in their own time?

Anythin, realistically... how many new players do you think view that? I've had my account since 2013 and I've never even seen that page before..

They should really make this page more known, I have never seen it before

They would also update that page with a basic skill guide and at least a mention to divine mode

I've never seen it either. Also, in all honesty, if I had seen that when I joined, I wouldn't have understood it. Some people probably won't. Especially since a lot of players are younger. I also think it would seem easier to learn it on the same screen as you're playing, rather than switching between tabs/windows to keep re-reading it all.

I won't deny that they could do more to advertise it, so more people are aware of it's existence. But what exactly is it that you do not understand from the guide? The guide is only an extension of the game, the best way to learn how to shaman is by trial-and-error. In a special tutorial you'd be too limited from all the aspects that involve shamaning.

I think this is a pretty extensive guide. It could use a nod to divine mode (even if new players aren't going to be using it) but other than that the only thing I think would be better is if a link to it popped up after you finish the basic tutorial

I don't know, I personally am not a fan of that page as a guide to learning how to sham. It would be easier for me to learn something that I'm reading/seeing taught to me on the same screen as I'm playing, rather than have to switch tabs/windows to keep re-reading things when time comes. I think that page is a good page for a quick description of every ability/ground/ect, but the idea of having a simple tutorial (as simple as the one when you first join) is still in favor for me. Like I said, something as simple as "make this b plank board and place it, make a c plank board and connect it. now make this balloon and connect it. congrats, you've learned the basics" would be extremely helpful if you ask me. And seeing all the new players, and even players level 15 and under that still have no real idea what they're doing, is kind of more proof (to me) of how much something like that would help
