hello I am Chip I'm a wannabe artist that loves anything cute and fluffy And also cats. I love cats. I made this thread mostly so I can meet awesome tfm artists but also I hope I can get good feedback because I often feel like I'm stuck and never get better with art I don't draw very very often, but I hope you guys enjoy these crappy paintings! I am open to requests, all I am asking for is a good quality picture of your mouse. But of course I won't draw everyone, it really depends on your outfit. If it can help you, I love the simplest ones, and also I love colorful items and fluffy furs!! I'd love to do art trades, just ask and if I have time and like your style/outfit I will happily do it And about commission, I've never done those, but feel free to ask if you'd be interested in a detailed headshot/fullbody painting of your mouse Here are my recent drawings!! They've all been done since February 2016 Kingdave ![]() Sorbou ![]() Ninjaquiram ![]() Poiromangue ![]() Evermad ![]() Pandelaure ![]() Toxik ![]() As stated before, I am Chip :D I'm a 19 years old girl living in Canada. I'm a really quiet person working as a "cook" in a small Mcdonald's, wich is cool since I love eating. I also love animals! Right now I have 4 cats, a dog, two parakeets, a rat, an hamster and a few fish. Here's my baby cat wearing a tie ![]() I've always been drawing on and off. My style is changing all the time because pretty much anything can be inspiring to me Right now I'm trying to get better with fur and general anatomy, and also backgrounds ugh.. I am drawing on Paint Tool Sai and I'm using a large Wacom intuos pro tablet. I also like traditionnal drawings, even if I don't really draw Transformice things with pencils. I love Faber Castell pencils, I wish I had the 120 pencils box set, just because colooooors *_* Here's my Deviantart page if you are interested in my non-tfm drawings Jessuki and Chip - September 2014 ![]() Jessuki - November/december 2014 ![]() Bounty - March 2015 ![]() Xijasminex - May 2015 ![]() Kydae and Chip - summer 2015 ![]() Chip - summer 2015 ![]() Aewing - September 2015 ![]() Secretive - October 2015 ![]() Wouaah - October 2015 ![]() Azzillapp - October 2015 ![]() Chip - October 2015 ![]() This is not really a tutorial since i can't really explain... But here are each step of one of my drawings. Feel free to ask questions, I'll do my best to answer! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

aaa thank you!!! I'm so glad you like it Lemonspring, it really depends on the drawing, for example Ninjaquiram's one took me an hour while toxik's one took like 4 hours. Most of the time it takes about 1-3 hours per painting i think |

THANKS :D I just finished Ancientcow's drawing! ![]() Hope you like it! opicalneon a dit : I will try to explain you with some screenshots i took while drawing the mouse. I apologize because English is not my first language so there's probably a bunch of mistakes and mispelling I started with the sketch, I always try to mark the fur, it can always be useful later ![]() On a layer under the sketch I put my colors. Usually i just color pick them from the reference ![]() I put a new layer above the one with the flat colors and I check the clipping group thing. I also set it on multiply mode. Then I used the water brush showed on that screenshot to put some shadings with a desaturated green. I chose it since I decided to make green eyes ![]() I decided my light source and started to shade. It's important to keep your light source in mind while painting. Using my pen's pressure I was able to make my shading more or less dark ![]() I merged down the shading layer with the flat colors one. Now I only had a painting layer, my two sketch layers and the background color ![]() I hid my lines. Kinda ugly uh XD In the next step I tried to make it look better ![]() Using the color picker tool, I tried to get colors better, have better shapes, aaand idk, just looking more like a mouse ![]() Now I can start the fur! Still using my color picker tool, better keep it in a shortcut (on my Sai it's the right click) because I use it all the time. I took the brush and settings shown on the screen shot. At this step I picked the shading colors and made quick strokes in the fur directions. I used the color picker at almost every stroke so my fur doesn't look plain, and we can see many shade of greenish grey in it. Having less pressure on my pen allowed me to kinda blend colors, while more pressure made my strokes darker, wich was useful in the shading places. Don't worry even if it's not very precise, you can just see this step as guidelines for the fur ![]() I used the same technique with color picker, the same brush and quick strokes to make the ears, letter and reindeer things details and textures ![]() Back to the fur! I'm still using the same brush here, but I put the Min size at about 22-25% and a slightly smaller size than the other step. I made quick strokes again in my shading areas, still keeping my fur direction in mind. I only detailed the shading parts here. As always, I used the color picker tool according to the places I was painting ![]() Here I put the min size a bit higher, about 30-35% and i made the brush slightly bbigger. This time I color picked on the lighest aeras. Still using the color picker tool and keeping my fur directions in mind, I made all my strokes softer. I was putting very few pressure on my pen to achieve that ![]() Here I put my brush at a lower min size, about 15-17%, and I also made it smaller than the last steps. I took a lighter color than the ones already on the painting, and I made strokes in the lightest areas, and also on the sides of the head. The color picker tool can still be useful here since at this step I usually finish the fur part. The key here is a lot of patience, and paying a lot of attention in details, but I can't really explain. It's really about looking closely at your drawing and getting mad at it and keep detailing it until you feel satisfied with how it looks ![]() Finally done with the fur!! Here I finished the details on the flower, the mouth, the nouse, the eyes and the letter ![]() This is my final step. Here I make a new layer above my mouse, on clipping groupe and multiply mode. I made the shadows and the eyes darker. I made another layer, still in clipping group but this time I set it on overlay mode. ith a light desaturated yellow I highlighted the light areas of the mouse. ![]() Then I made a third new layer, no clipping group nor mode this time. I took my brush in a very small size and 0% min size and I made small strokes for the whiskers. I also added some hair on the head's size, as I hink it looks better that way. Aaaand we're done! Hope that was helpful |
