i recently encountered a "scam" from a person saying this:

[Qianjialinq] who want to marry me
[Qianjialinq] but u need to give me 5 furs

and thought "why would anyone fall for a scam like that if the person can easily divorce them and get free furs?"

and the other day i saw the cafe talking about a mass cheesecoin scam that happened, the problem was eventually cleared

but ever since the 2014 update, people were being scammed left right center due to greedy people wanting to pull a slick shot on them,
how would we fix this? and how would it affect transformices' reputation for the trading system, and overall?

Having an Anti-Scam feature on mods might solve this issue once and for all.

The mods would have a new tool that could easily track trades happening in every room and have the ability to track what everyone is saying (in many rooms) with the command "/Chattrack" (can not be accessible to a normal player) this command will allow the mod to check many chatrooms to make sure nothing is suspicious (also helpful with muting the unsuspecting offender/player). how can a mod change the chat for this command? /changeto (insert roomname) will work for this only.

and yes, i still need reworks for this idea, much help is appreciated! especially from mods themselves.

much love for this game,

Player

Love the idea I was scammed. Sadly the mods can't do anything about it.

mods already have enough to deal with so it may b a little too much
maybe raising awareness of these scams would be a more efficient way of doing things?

I would not like to see this in-game because moderators already have so much to do, thus leading to most having /silence on. Giving moderators more jobs to do will only cause more harm. I think our best course of action is to teach the community how to not fall for scams and give out daily tips to prevent being scammed or 'hacked' by a stranger.

u can report people who scam to mods and we will do what we can.

i would personally rather not deal w/ this bc it's a player's responsibility to be smart about their account and therefore smart about their currencies/inventories. if something appears too good to be true it likely is; i would instead prefer a sort of ingame popup which would come up before you trade/gift someone which says something along the lines of be wary of scammers.

a dit :
The mods would have a new tool that could easily track trades happening in every room and have the ability to track what everyone is saying (in many rooms) with the command "/Chattrack" (can not be accessible to a normal player) this command will allow the mod to check many chatrooms to make sure nothing is suspicious (also helpful with muting the unsuspecting offender/player). how can a mod change the chat for this command? /changeto (insert roomname) will work for this only.

we pretty much already check different rooms on alts, but still there's just no way for us to be everywhere at once. the best way to deal w/ a scammer/bad person is to .report them and then ask a mod to come check it out.

tfm already offers a secure trading system, so long as trades are only done there it's impossible to be scammed. just keep your wits about you and be wary of deals that r 2 good 2 be true. i think your idea is good, but with mod alts to check chatrooms and responsibility on the players' side i believe this is unnecessary and would prefer to see admins spend their time on something else.

I've been a victim of a scam and very much support this idea because of it. Greedy, trashy people are making this community more toxic by the hour and it needs to be stopped.

I don't really agree with this idea.

Why?

but ever since the 2014 update, people were being scammed left right center due to greedy people wanting to pull a slick shot on them
Wherever you go, there's always person trying to take advantage on you. The only way to avoid scam, is to eliminate the scam target.
But what is the target? The passwords, the cheesecoins, the fur, the fraise etc.

What we have is already enough, since there are probably below than 10 mods for a server and controlling more than 300+ players at once?

but this idea can also be beneficial to moderators themself in some situation. I believe the team should open the moderator application once again, to add moderators specifically to new features like suggested - scam control, cafe moderations etc.

The game is getting 18+ rated actually, and the bad things always pass silently into this game.

I think you're highly underestimating the amount of rooms and the amount of chat that occurs within Transformice. What you are suggesting is impossible unless you have an army of moderators. The problem you describe is unsolvable because it's not a flaw of the game, it's a flaw of the users who are playing the game. As such updating the game can only do so much, the only way to fix this problem is to raise individual awareness of players. As long as there is something to gain, this problem will not go away.

it's a no from me. This will be a HUGE drain on staff/mod/vol time, and the onus is on the player/account holder to secure their account and not release their password or details.
