Whenever I go for a hunt of items I need, I take some weapons with me as to use those in upcoming fights. As I gather up material I find myself regularly in the situation that one of my weapons breaks in the middle of the fight and I start using up my precious TVs/chairs/... (which break at first usage!!) while I still have a weapon that I want to use for the fights. Therefore I'd like to suggest possible different systems for choosing a weapon. Please note: Choosing a weapon manually by clicking on it is still possible, the scenarios are about what happens after the current weapon breaks. 1) The order of the inventory matters We can order our stuff in our inventory. This could be used as a list of weapons as well. So the first spot is the first weapon, when it breaks the second spot gets chosen as weapon. When the second weapon breaks it either goes back to the first spot (if there is a weapon again) or it goes on to the third spot. And so on and so on. Things that are not considered as weapons such as food would be ignored and the next available weapon in line would be chosen. If you want to use food as weapon (e.g. it's only a few meters left to your camp and you don't want any of your other things to break) you can choose the food manually as weapon just like it is possible now. 2) Dedicated weapon places There could be 2-4 places in the inventory that are dedicated for weapons. This means, if you want to use a specific thing as weapon put it there. Those places will be chosen prior to the rest of the inventory. Only when those specific places are empty, take the rest of the inventory as source with the way it currently works. In case you carry nothing with you that you would like to use as weapon, you can also put, e.g. food in the weapon space. The food will be chose as weapon just like any other object in the prior place and you use your bare hands for attacking. This way you won't destroy your precious stuff on the last few meters. 3) Hotkeys to change the weapon While with this scenario the current system for choosing a weapon does not necessarily change, it makes navigation between weapons easier. By hotkeys I don't mean that every inventory spot gets their own hotkey but rather only two: one key for going to the right, one for going to the left. As example: I currently use the weapon in the first spot of row 1, but I'd like to change. I press "x" to go to the second spot in my inventory. Then I realize I'd like to use yet another weapon so I press two times "z" to go back to the last spot of the second row. The same way the mouse wheel could be used for it, just like how you turn objects in TFM as shaman. On a side note I want to make you aware that x and z is really a bad combination if you use QWERTZ like I do, x and y would be a lot more convenient. Being able to set those keys or at least as a light version by choosing your style of keyboard would therefore be cool! Dernière modification le 1488550020000 |
