Hello all, the Fortoresse wiki is up and running with tons of information, but could still use some love and attention from all of you. I figured it wouldn't hurt to promote it a bit and see what improvements you all have to suggest (cause I'm definitely not perfect!). If you have any information, feel free to edit or add pages to the wiki! Also, any good picture(s) to represent / show how something is done are always welcome.

Sorry for link promoting, but it's fortoresse related, so figured it's worth a shot ^.^. For those new to wikis, feel free to check out Help:Editing, and be bold. You don't need to make an account to edit. If you have any questions (editing or otherwise) feel free to ask here, or on my wiki message wall. My username on wikia is the same as on here.

Some helpful links:

• Armory - information on Guns, Perks, etc
• Gameplay (Tutorial of sorts)
• Maps - A list of maps, each with it's own page for details (currently lacking on details if anyone is interested in contributing)
• Game modes (VIP, Flag, Domination, etc)
• Techniques (not nearly as good as Solfn's tactics library of course)
• Mechanics (damage, health, conj, as well as some "meta" gameplay stuff)
• Changelog - A list of game versions and what they changed.

As an aside, this isn't "my" wiki. Although I'm the only admin on it, that doesn't make it mine any more than any other wiki. I simply wish to emphasis this point as I feel it adds an assumption that the wiki should only be edited under my authority (or something). I'm simply the person who's always pestering people to use it ^.^

Thanks, appreciate it ^.^ I reversed the order of the list (so newest is at top), and changed dates to say the month (so the format isn't confusing between American users and... well... everyone else =p). Hope that's ok by you.

Most of the world uses the other way so I did that way, but you can do whatever.

I'm not very good with coming up with names but these are rather simple, I'm sure others could do better though.

I like it very much! It's so much easier to get an idea of which weapon or perk does what in a table.

Area 801 looks a lot like something out of metroid.
What content should we be adding to the wiki? Should I contribute all of my info about techniques and perks to the wiki?

@Tadame: Agreed, tables are awesome for stat comparing :)

@Solfn: Yes, absolutely make a techniques page / add to the related page (like VIP techniques). Or if they are really common ones, you can give them thier own page. Map strategies could also be useful.

Any added information is useful, just try your best to place it where it belongs, be that on a new page or an existing one. And it's a wiki, so if someone thinks they could improve on it, they can :) Be bold

Edit: Some info could also use some fact testing/finding, such as potato gaining (idk how long it is before you get 0 instead of 1 if the rounds ends early and you do nothing), what part of you needs to be "inside" of the flag area exactly to count (and if the border of the flag area counts), info on individual maps, how much of you needs to be in the void when in a jump state to die, etc. Also rewording confusing or just lacking text or expanding on / explaining something in more detail. Also, screenshots (I'm bad at getting good screenshots, as mentioned earlier).

Edit2: And as far as perks go, feel free to make individual pages for each perk if you don't want to squeeze to much information about them in the table. The table is mostly for a quick idea of what they do and comparison than a full description anyways.

It seem like you did a better job at explaining the game modes on this wiki then I did in the guide, good work! ^^

If you don't mind my asking, could I link the pages in your wiki to the respective areas in the guide? I feel like you went into more detail and since my thread is in the important links section it could help generate some traffic to this. Of course, if you want to take any specifics from the guide (though its a bit outdated and I'm polshing it up now) you are more than welcome.

@Epicsouris: Good catch. Changed it to crosshairs. I'll hopefully uploaded a crosshairs image later today.

@Crashwolf: Thanks, although some anons helped with some specifics :).

Feel free to link to anything on the wiki (meant to be shared after all, and more traffic is always appretiated). Since you offered I may check the guide again later and see what can be added (assuming I remember >.<), but feel free to add something yourself if you wish :) It's not "my" wiki, I'm just an admin.

Well I added the parts of the wikia to the guide, if I catch anything on the wikia I'll fix it but it's very well done so I don't think I'll have to^^

First, a shout-out to +Laurent for the invaluable help with weapon stats. Hopefully people find them useful :)

Second, does anyone know if anything of the skins / hair styles are a reference to something? Or even what they might symbolize? Trying to name them, but like I mentioned with maps, I'm not good at it =p Or even any names you've heard some called.

Lastly, still looking for any ideas of things to add to the wiki. You can add it yourself, mention it here, or message me on the wiki.

Edit: Added skin images, and the armory page now uses tabs. Takes a little while for the tabs to appear, but I figured this was preferable to having to scroll down the page to each section.

Edit: Wiki updated for changes in Version 1.24 (new guns, solid void, ammo clips, etc update)

First, accolades to Solfn for his recent wiki edits on meta gameplay mechanics, such as crouch jumping, as well as his help in general, be it on the forums or in the wiki's comment's section; I'd never be able to explain it half as well, nor come up with it in the first place.

Second, the changelog has been updated, with each version having it's own page, inspired by the French Transformice Wiki, so new updates can now have their own page, and be easily linked to.

Third, map pages could still use some love; explaining some things to look out for, ways to potentially beat them, and maybe ways to beat that =p Even basic information on common strategies is helpful, such as where to go when a round starts, or common mistakes.

Also, all the map pages now have a scale-able map with the locations of flags / spawns. This should work in most browsers, although it's disabled on the mobile version. Also, I measured the distances fairly well, but due to an error on my part with the wiki template, many of the locations are 1-2 blocks off, so if you notice something that's obviously wrong (like if it's floating in the air), feel free to tweak the location a little.

Lastly (despite it being semi-old news), all weapons now have their own pages! Like map pages, these could use some additional information on how to use the gun properly, and specific scenarios. While it's nearly impossible to be completely neutral with these pages, please try not to be too biased (such as pairing a primary/secondary weapon), but if you do, explain why as well as pros/cons in detail.

Also, some small news is there's now a page for the original Forteresse make by Tig on his Extinction website, [size=9]and while not directly Fortoresse related, there is now an Atelier 801 wiki for real world stuff / things that are the same between games; feel free to add stuff here as well :)

Let's make this a wiki that puts all others to shame! ;) And if anyone has any questions / suggestions, feel free to post here, or if it's about something more specific / is about feedback/bugs with any of the new things mentioned above, feel free to message me on the forums / my message wall.
