Void walking is the act of travelling in the black part of the map in order to skip prolonged digging sections. Since the update, there is now an invisible wall blocking all sides of the void, and stepping beyond this barrier is instant death.

Would you like to see void walking return? Give a reason if you can, depending on what you picked.

Removing the ability to void walk made a huge change in the game, as it is now impossible to skip digging through thick walls, so enemies will not be able to attack you from above.

Considering it was a glitch in the first place and people were exploiting it to get an advantage over others it's most likely not coming back and probably never will.

Things are patched for a reason and that's really all there is too it.

As Shadowwinter said, it was a glitch and it was patched. While I think voiding walking added a nice, interesting challenge, I'm not really for or against bringing it back. I've enjoyed playing games were people completely ignore the void and also games that used it intensively.

My main complaint is that if you are against the side/top of a map, the void can eat your bullets. Especially with limited clips, I find this annoying as hell. Hopefully they turn of bullet collision with the void (or at least the part(s) where your gun can poke into). I imagine this "feature" it to prevent people from shooting around barriers, but in my opinion people shouldn't be hugging the void anyways, before or after the update.

I noticed the void stopping bullets too, and I really don't like that either. It is kind of hard to adjust to the void being a wall too but I mean, I honestly like it better although I totally agree that bullets shouldn't be stopped due to the void just because I know how VIP's tend to hide up at the top of the map and in the corners and that can really hinder defending yourself and possible even the ability to get out.

Hard to say because I've gotten used to playing it that way and to be honest, even though it changes the game a lot, it prevents people from falling off it or being blown off, but still, I really don't think it has much of a chance for it to be brought back into the game.

Shadowwinter a dit :

Whenever things are patched they will most of the time never come back. But look at tfm, walljumping was a glitch in the first place and they never got rid of it. The only good things about blocking void is how people can no longer troll with c4 and it adds a better defense while you're vip when creating a bunker near the corners.

Wall-Jumping is limited to walls with friction and even then the ability can be cut off entirely by just using an ice block if the map(maker) didn't want you going there without the assistance of a shaman. Wall-Jumping added game-play that wasn't potentially game-breaking like under cutting the entire map avoiding all the obstacles and even the players involved in the process.

Void Walking is easily comparable to something like Fly hacking in Transformice which is cheating -- Having the ability to go where ever, whenever you want avoiding all potentially dangerous obstacles with little to no drawbacks.

I've gotten used to this as I expected. I still miss it sometimes, but feel it's best left as it is for now. (still hate that it eats bullets though).

I think a cool "shout-out" to void walking could be a special map with "cloud ground" around the top / sides. This wouldn't have the same "jump and you die" "thrill" of void walking, but just an idea =p
