I read in steam that there's a free name change. How come my account doesn't have it? :(

The free name change is only available to users who had an account before the new nickname system announcement. These users are identified with the tag "#0000" after their name. Sadly, your account was created after the nickname system was implemented and are not eligible for a free name change.
