to stop you from doing it.

By the time I heard about it
it was too late.
I lament about it every day
because I did not know
you were that close.

I wish I've said something
to stop you
or in any way
to change your mind.

There is no point
in saying "I'm sorry" repeatedly anymore.
You may be frozen in time
but we have to carry on.
