Zapfhire rose to fame in 2009 after finishing as the champion on the second season of Transformice Idols.Later that year, he released his debut album, Give It To Me, which debuted at number one on the T.F.M Billboard 801.The album spawned several hit singles, including "Stop Stalking", for which he received a Grammy award for "Best Male Pop Vocal Performance."

Jaara Smith Stephen Verdihile was born in Reykjavik, Iceland, to mother Valentine Martinez, a vocal coach, and Keith Verdihile, a psychologist. Zapfhire has American, Canadian, English, German, Irish, and Portuguese ancestry.
