If it dies again I shall leave it be; don't worry. The premise can be slightly confusing to some, and we have quite a few misconceptions in the fandom, so I'll add a little FAQ:

What is Vocaloid? Vocal synthesizing software, it costs around £200 (similar in dollars), Avanna is the current cheapest English Vocaloid at £95. It is designed for producers who want to add lyrics to their music but have no singer, or want to increase their repotoir of singers. It can also be used to demonstrate how a song should be sung or to create backing vocals.

How many Vocaloids are there? Over 55.

What is UTAU? Vocal synthesizing software that you can create your own voicebank with, or use others'. Lower quality, but free! Has some differences to Vocaloid which may be advantageous to you.

What relationship do Rin and Len have? They have no canon, so whatever the producer (or you) wishes.

Are Haku and Neru Vocaloids? They have no official voicebanks. They were created as personifications of the fandom, classed as 'Miku derivatives'.

Is Teto a Vocaloid? No, she is an UTAU. People get confused and she is often added into Vocaloid group images because she was released on April Fools day as a fake – her creators pretended to market her as a Vocaloid.

How many Vocaloid songs are there? Thousands, ranging from awful to extremely well done. Some genres are more prevalent than others, so some you may have to dig deeper than the popular weekly ranking to find your favourites.

At least one never gets that problem with ones like Mew, VY1, Sweet Ann etc - unless people draw them in an anime style, that is.

Plot twist: Mangas of This is the Happiness and Peace of Mind Committee, Servant of Evil, Heathaze Days and several others have come out. :D Black Rock Shooter has an anime (though the character came before the songs). We do get mangas for songs. Indivisual pieces based on producer's creativity, that's what it's all about...

You may get mangas for the story lines of music, but one overall manga for the mascots without any canon to base it on would be a terrible idea.
