Why have mods them whisper off, like almost always they dont do the work of being a mod? just banning after 20 minutes hacking and the most dont get ban? Why beinga mod when not even trying to be one. If im right a mod is someone that is helping everyone and not turning whispers to off. |

You say that like it was anywhere easy to be a moderator in this game. You say that yet you have no idea on how many whispers people flood to the mods whenever they are online. At least you're making it look like you don't know. Most of the moderators gets insane amounts of whispers in-game, so that's why they disable it. Plus, you can just tell everyone in the room to either /ban usernamehere or /report usernamehere (i'm not implying ban and report are the same thing by the way). xxkingswagxx a dit : That doesn't mean they should be subjected to torture and constant spam from other servers. Users should know how to make use of the /report system and other tools available to report users. |

Haruhitastic a dit : So? Sometimes when I really need a mod is when they have their whispers off.. And reporting hasn't really helped me. Still, moderation is like a real job, you apply a job and should expect work, If you apply for moderation, expect trolls/complainers |

Moderation is not a "real job." Moderation is not something you are paid to do. Moderation is a volunteer position, which in the basic rules of being a moderator, you are a "player first." That means if you wanna play on your main account, and be silenced and do little moderation, you hold the right. You don't know what a moderator is doing when they're silenced, either. Maybe they're attending to something in real life, or they're focusing on the report window. |

I said it was like a job, never called it a real job, but I still think they should treat it like a job, if I was a mod I would never /silence |

xxkingswagxx a dit : Some of the mods are my friends, and they thought like that too. "I would never /silence". They changed their mind since then, and you would too. But how are you supposed to treat whispers, if as soon as you get one, it gets lost in the a sea of other whispers? While you're replying to one person, 50 other people are also asking for help/reporting someone. Mods aren't machine, and right now, the best way for them to help the community is by going through the reports. You can always try and ask for their help on IRC, instead of going through the whispers in game. |

My apologizes then... |

The simple answer to the question as to why mods turn off their whispers lies in numbers. There can be over 30000 people online on Transformice at the same time. They are all able to whisper a mod at any given moment. Despite the fact that we now have more staff than before, on peak hours there simply are so many messages coming in, that trying to reply to them all will completely overwhelm you to the point that you won't get anything done. In that scenario, putting on /silence is a lot more productive and helpful because then at least you can check reports people send in using /report. From my perspective the TFM staff is generally speaking a hugely motivated group of volunteers with the fullest intent of helping to make the game as enjoyable as possible. I understand that it may seem dismissive to hit a wall -so to speak- when it comes to whispers, but it certainly does not mean nothing is being done. As for the lack of trust in reporting... I can only ask you to please continue to use the reporting system. It may seem ineffective at times because no, not everyone gets banned, but the system is a great great help to moderators. If you want us to get as much work done as possible, please only whisper when the matter you wish to discuss can not in any way be handled through the /report system. Most of our whispers, unfortunately, are very straightforward reports and the more time we spend addressing whispers, the less time we have to actually deal with reports! In that sense not believing that reports work makes the report system less useful - it's a vicious cycle. And as much as I love to chat with people on the game, I think it's important that players realize that for us to do our jobs, and really make an impact on the game, sometimes /silence is necessary. I think that the mods do a really good job, even if we cant see it (At times) |

I really don't get help from mods anymore, even if the have whispers on. Part of me thinks it is because the mods don't like me because I am the biggest dipshit in the cafe and had at least 5 temporary mutes. 3 for 0 hours, 1 for an hour and 1 for 3 hours, I am so awesome ;) |
