Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049

my favorite:
parasite - wonderfully told movie from south korea. i cant wait to watch it again. it’s funny at moments but isn't afraid to talk about class differences that are incredibly real. best way to watch it is sub titles on and completely focused. IT DOESN’T DISAPPOINT !!

runner ups:
the shining - wanted to watch this for a looong time and finally was able to recently. super good, beautifully shot, and keeps you on the edge of your seat. the acting was phenomenal as well... i loved it. i just loved it.
lion king (animated version) - a classic. i love animation as a genre and this is one of those movies you watch with friends and just sing and have a good time with. predictable, but the character designs and just how iconic it is makes up for it.
spider-man: into the spiderverse - my favorite movie before seeing parasite. seeing this movie in theaters i was awed at how beautiful it was. it takes a while to get your eyes used to it but holy shit! it’s so good! the colors and animation is perfect and is the Best Spider-man Movie to date!
moonlight - i’m thinking of rewatching this one but it’s a favorite of mine. i like stories with LGBTQ+ characters and this one was just so good... i really really need to rewatch it. i’m so glad it won over la la land :).
