I think the lack of character limits is the most insane, I've seen people pasting the entire of Fifty Shades of Gray.
Also, I don't think I can actually link the official video announcing the update thanks to all the ascii dick art but it's called Meet the new YouTube comments by Youtube help. I think those dislikes show the communities' opinion.

The Google+ update is a bit funky and it gets confusing... I like the old format better...

Lately some videos started playing in HTML5 for me, eventhough I don't have HTML5 beta enabled. I think they are trying to push away from flash aswell.
