But i still watch MLP's show.

It's not about joining or leaving them. I think youre automatically in one if you like something so much you frequently visit back to it. Youre just not taking part with the loud side of the fandom.

Okay, sounds like a fetish I once heard of. I would sincerely prefer a shitty, but more creative storyline than the same shit over and over again.

Yeah adding onto my previous answer I kinda dislike the Steven Universe fandom.
Don't get me wrong I LOVE the show and I used to consider me apart of the fandom when the show was just gaining popularity. Now people are so obsessed over the show the almost got a girl killed for drawing Amethyst 'too skinny' and ruining a motel's business with 0 star ratings because the named hotel was on the show. That stuff makes me cringe, that the fandom would go to a point where they would make a girl almost sucide over how she drew a cHARAcTER. Let that sink in.

Anyway.. Wow, I've found out a lot about different fandoms from reading these posts. That steven universe fandom mess.. Oh boy.
For me most of the anime and manga fandom and girls who like boy x boy (fujoshis) are pretty.. ew.
The people who call others weeaboos if they hear that the other person likes anime are annoying as well. :)

Quick explanation about fujoshis:
If they see 2 males who are good bros.. "Oh they must be lovers secretly"

Football (soccer) fans are pretty awful. As much as I love the sport; the sheer tribalism, while fun in its own way, can get well out of hand. Is the football club someone supports really a reason to utterly despise them and yell abuse at them as many fans genuinely seem to do?

What else, the MLP fandom use to suck, but I don't think it's so bad now. There was a time where on videos, forums etc that had nothing to do with ponies, bronies would randomly bring it up and then shout down any disapproval. Although that has settled down now.

I can't stand fans who get high and mighty over intellect because they enjoy a game/show/movie that supposedly has a 'deep meaning' or is 'original'. I remember an indie game called 'The Stanley Parable' which had fans who'd complain 'ugghh you guys don't appreciate how good of a game this is, you think a game has to have guns and violence to be good grrr fool'.

PC Master Race. Do I honestly need to explain?

Gamers who only care about graphics. For me, Nintendo 64 graphics are just fine. I remember the ridiculous internet flame wars over which system had better 'specs', the PS3 or Xbox 360. The fact that can you even debate about it means the differences must be so tiny that they can't make a shred of a difference. Would you really rather play a boring PS4 game with 'amazing HD graphics' or a fun PS2 game? Gameplay>>>>>graphics. I still play NES and SEGA Mega Drive games.

I used to like FNAF, but it's just gotten way too popular. It's 2/3 of the size of the pony fandom in my opinion. (which is pretty big) I don't enjoy the fanart, whether it's good or not, most of it's annoying cute stuff. And don't forget the dumb ships. (dear god) They're animatronics.

In general I avoid fandoms altogether, I'm not really into shipping and all of my experiences with fandom led me to be whacked in the face with that constantly. I used to think that it was the Doctor Who fandom that made me stop enjoying the show but I've realized since then that discovering the fandom just happened to coincide with when the show became progressively worse to the point where it's unwatchable for me now. I still enjoy the earlier seasons just the same. Looking back on it I really don't see what about the fandom annoyed me so much to begin with. What exactly was their crime, talking about something that they enjoy too much?

The way I see it there are plenty of annoying and/or strange people out there and there's a good chance that many of them have the same interests as you. If you let that ruin what you like you'll eventually be driven away from everything that you enjoy.

This is such a silly way to critique something to me because you could easily describe anything with that type of framing and make it sound equally ridiculous.

"Some durian-head kid wants to abduct as many animals as he can so that he can force them to fight each other and make people give him pins. Wow, animal cruelty and major narcissism much?" "A bunch of cereal mascot horses and a fat lizard talk to each other about their feelings then write to a bigger horse about what they talked about. Basically the same plot to every other generic kids show that's only there to be colorful and shoehorn in some obvious lesson at the end. Yawn."
