Find a server. If you like it, find it's IP address. Make sure it's online, not offline. Some servers are 24/7, some aren't.
Go to multiplayer once you've found an IP address. You can either add the server (it lets you save it instead of putting the IP in everytime), which requires it's name, or you can just connect to it. Both ways are pretty much the same.
Put the IP address in, you can do it easier with copy and paste. It should connect. I believe you have to have Java fully updated to it's latest version. If you do add server, just add the name.

I did all of this on survival mode.

I have a huge way better house on my creative mode world. Js.

I am not very good at minecraft.But i am fans of Omfgcata and The yogscast.I will always try to follow in there footsteps and i hope everyone here can too ^_^

I do have that mod, but I only use it for end portals, and I do survival mode legitly.
