Here is a good solution, just make a parent thingy that can turn the chat on and off. Doesn't matter about the age. It's just a problem solved about the swearing.

I think this would be the best solution and is the lest harmful towards the chat

if this were to happen though, kids could easily create their own email using one of the many free services and hook it up to their own account and not let their parents know. kids are more slick than you think.

At the start of the game, just put a 13+ warning, huge on the screen. Mention the fact that there is cussing and inappropiate topics. Then, let anyone join, no matter their age. If they feel overwhelmed by the inappropiate content and all, they have at least been warned beforehand.

I believe this is the best way to go

Transformice cannot restrict people below 13 to not playing, as they would lose hundreds of players including me, but they can warn them or give them options. Just my view.

Age isn't a problem for me
On the other hand, I have a close friend who is under the age of 13, but god damn she's mature.
I don't think this should be a rule for the game.

I don't think there should be age restrictions, people will just lie about their age.

But there is already a language filter, so if kids can't handle swearing, they should use it.

It's impossible to keep track of who is underage and not since it's so simple to type in a higher age, just so you can chat. I believe people do stuff like that pretty often, an example is facebook. Pretty much everyone wrote the wrong age so they could use facebook.

And it's not really porn, since there is no genitalia in the game. Pretty much all kids and teenagers know what porn is in todays society anyway, we can't ban/mute people for talking or acting in a nasty way. Sure, if someone older is being sexual towards an underage person, that's a different thing.

But in the end, it's a game and we are on the internet after all, deal with it.

I think tfm could just make a no swearing rule, and ppl who swear or talk about porn should be banned. My little sister ( aged 9) plays tfm with no problem. Not that much people swear nowadays in tfm, but I must admit when I first joined there were quite a lot of foul language in the chat. Also, the younger players just have to keep away from the cafe.

Uhm if you're that sensitive about the cursing you can sensor the chat using the settings button and enabling the language filter

Before seeing this post, I didn't even realize that tfm was a 13+ game, it says nowhere when you login that the game is only for 13 and over. The game could easily attract little kids, for obvious reasons. Maybe there should be some servers on the game specifically for younger kids with either restricted chat or no chat altogether.

Kids should have gotten used to the cursing and whatnot by now. If they find cursing a problem, they can just stop playing. Though I think the majority have no problems with it by now.

I'm 12, and I don't mind about cursing.. :^)

True, but most players are 12+ which is good but also not. The younger one's shouldn't be able to play this game, sorry but yeah. There's alot of swearing.. I'm honest now I'm one of those who swear alot n so and I am kinda rude... but ya. Can't 10 and younger have a different chat or so?

I don't think so because a lot of people that are OK with the swearing and such wouldn't be able to play. Also you don't have to be 13 they just say with parents permission.
