Red Wolf

Hey guys! First of all, I would like to wish everyone good luck and thank for the chance of taking part of this competition! It's my first time participating in anything in the forum, so I'm still kinda nervous and probably most of you are too, so let's have some fun regardless of the winner!
So, back to business, the animal I picked up is the Canis rufus, aka the Red Wolf! I love canids, and (thankfully) most of them are listed as "least concern" in the official extinction scale of Endangered Species Act of 1973, both foxes and wolves. However, most people never heard about the red wolf, who is native mainly from southern Californa to Texas, and it's appearance is in mid-way between coyotes and gray wolves. It's somewhat similar to one of the native species in my country, the maned wolf (it's not in risk of extinction either) - both have reddish fur and are canids, and both are exclusive to unique slightly hot climates in the Americas (and are gorgeous, too!). They surelly won the genetic lotery of beauty, and that's why I put a stilish fedora in it!
