Should I put Earthquake or Rock Slide with my Torterra?

Earthquake is STAB, I'd go with that

I'm having my Torterra holding a Assault vest instead. I can do both, Rock slide can cover Flying/Fire types.
Always thought Torterra was a Grass/Rock type lol.

Torterra was my very first Pokemon (well Turtwig but whatever)

I always went with Earthquake, Rock Slide, Wood Hammer and Synthesis

This was before I did competitive battle so most of the time I replaced Synthesis with Frenzy Plant
