I do, but for me it has been a very gradual process and I still don't lift much.
I have done very basic fitness programs that I put together myself on and off since 2009.
When I first started I weighed 60kg and had very little bodyfat, now I am up to 71kg (currently) with not much added bodyfat.

The past few months I have been more serious about it and have done a lot of research to put together two programs that suit my needs and goals. I workout my whole body split throughout the week (Mon: Chest/Triceps, Wed: Legs/Shoulders, Friday: Biceps/Lats) and if I energy do abs/wrist exercises on the rest days.

I haven't put on a lot of size and am not pushing large amounts of weight by any means (I have been quite ill for several years and as a result have to work through bad fatigue/low energy) , however with good form and persistence I have slowly increased both and am not nearly as skinny as I once was.

Tl;dr - Yes frequently but not much weight. Research, persistence and good form are you friends!

I'd suggest a full body routine 3 times a week, hit every muscle at least twice a week for best results. Free weights are always better than machines. Eat well, sleep well, push hard.

Nutrition and sleep are the most important aspects of building strength/getting fit. You need the nutrients to repair your muscles and a lot of muscle repair and overall replenishment of your body is done while you sleep. If you neglect both of these then lifting isn't going to get you far and you might even end up doing some damage.

I'm not so sure about lifting when you are young too. I've heard mixed opinions on the matter, but I don't think you need to before the age of 16 anyway since your body will naturally build a fair bit of mass due to puberty (if you are a male).
