SOme people say that you could only travel forward in time, but then the future would be altered due to your absence. If you went back in time, you woluld mess up the future. Heres some sinerios:

~lets say you go back and you accidentally show someone in the past about lets say a phone. Then they would be intriged and the phone might be introduced earlier and invented by a different scientist/scientists altering the future/
OR IT COULD CREATE AN ENTIRELY NEW TIMELINE
