I think being mature is being able to think for yourself, as well as act/think sensibly or as appropriate.

Depending on the situation, being mature can also mean that you are able to think of the consequences/risks/repercussions and possibly how to deal with them (again, as appropriate).

Open mindedness about the world and everyone.
Thinking before you act.
Making what you do and say count.
Wising yourself up with exprience.
Learning and discovering things before your age group.
Knowing what limits you have and what you don't.
Surpassing the limit itself.

Anyway, I honestly don't know how I would define maturity. Physically, when you hit... puberty, ya know. Mentally can be at any age.

I don`t know why you said that because I wasn`t sarcastic in any way towards you

I'd say:
- Accepting when you're wrong
- Apologising when you realise what you did was uncalled for/rude
- Not running off in a rage when someone disagrees with what you're saying
- Being able to listen to another and not ignoring their points in an argument
- Not holding grudges, being able to let things go + forgiving another if they're truly sorry

There might be more but that's all I can think of for now.
