Videogames helpes you with logic i think, meow.
Like Transformice.
But some are made for fun.
The only videogames i don't like are the videogames with so much blood;i accept some war games if they don't let you go in the REAL war,but blood no.

Don't know how tfm helps you get smarter. It's already so simple.

A lot of games have NPCs and MOBs with pre-set patterns and changes in attack/defense, etc.

Players can eventually predict and find these patterns and put it to their advantage. Videogames are beneficial to an extent. In this sort of scenario, it helps pattern recognition.

Videogames can entertain people when they're having a bad day or when they're bored. some people say ''ViDEo GAMeS CaUSe VIOlENCe!!!!!!!!!!!''. it might sometimes. but that's rare. it mostly happens with people that have certain mental illnesses like Schizophrenia etc.

Amen to that. To add to your point (if I may be so rude), thanks to video games my brother and I started to learn english at a young age before we learned it in school. It's a good way to (as mentioned before) help with learning how to solve logical problems (depending on the game) and can also expand their imagination by playing creative games like Minecraft, Little Big Planet, Garry's Mod and so on. It can also create a safe space and help them forget bad experiences.

BUT games nowadays can contribute to addictions such as gambling thanks to lootboxes or "suprise mechanics" as EA unironically called them, and can indeed cause violent behaviour if you let your child play unsupervised. It can also lead to scams (CS:GO skins for example), or children spending over hundreds of dollars/euros/pounds if they have access to their parent's credit card(s).

Games as a whole is too wide to just slap a verdict on. It all depends on the usage, the user, the content and the creators.

Luckily goverments are cracking down hard on these lootboxes and such, but knowing companies like EA with their latest FIFA and casino with a side of basketball they'll find a different way to milk their buyers.
