A: Keep in mind that when you put Nightcore under the derogatory term of "chipmunk", you are also discriminating against all songs that have been sped up from their originals (speed edits). This would include a vast variety of songs, such as DJ Satomi's "Waves" or DJ Splash's remix of "Flying High," both of which speed edits (although hardly anyone is aware of the fact that they are!) have been uploaded to YouTube and gained several million views.

Nightcore differs from chipmunk songs because Nightcore is a slight raise of tempo and pitch, while "chipmunking" is a much higher raise of merely pitch. Chipmunk-like pitch is frowned upon within the Nightcore community and this is usually an attribute of poorly-done Nightcore edits.

The main goal of Nightcore is not to make it sounds "squeakier", it's to make it sound catchier than the original. Keep in mind that it doesn't always turn out great (for example: Raising pitch and tempo on a song with a fast pitch and tempo)

i dont know a way to hear a song in hardcore . my only methhode is to downlod a song on OSU and play / watch it at nightcore

Exactly. People complain that Nightcore is easy and that everyone can do it, but not everyone can do it *correctly*, as Kirby stated. You can either have a good song with a nice melody or what people call "chipmunk crap".

More things to add for my fellow Nightcore fans: If you speed up the pitch and tempo in any genres OTHER than Dance, Trance, Happy Hardcore, or Hands Up, it IS NOT Nightcore. The original Nightcore group made it so that way, so calling a sped up HipHop song Nightcore is disrespectful to those who make true Nightcore videos (like Maikel), and the original Nightcore group. If you claim you like Nightcore and list these specific things, you ARE NOT a fan of Nightcore, you are a fan of sped up music.
