The Sammer Kingdom's end in Super Paper Mario. Just the way you have to go through the area after it's destruction. With that music, and the vibrant kingdom with it's hues of blues and purples reduced to just a blank sheet of white. With all the rubble lying around as well, it really creates a depressing, desolate atmosphere. The worst part is how all those funny, unique Sammer Guys are all just gone. I mean, the prospect of fighting through all of them was bad enough, but this...to have them just wiped out like that...it's truly saddening.

The end of Chapter 7 with Luvbi giving up her Nimbi form to save the world is really sad too. So is the game's ending with Tippi leaving. The one detail that stands out to me about Tippi is that she never comes back. Not like Midna from Twilight Princess. By that I mean that the game doesn't save after you defeat Ganon, meaning that, when you resume your game file, Midna is still there. Tippi, however, is just gone. Though Tiptron is technically a replacement, she's depressing in her own way.

Almost beating a boss in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon and your partner dies.
