The babies or the adult? Because the babies feel weird, kind of icks me out actually lol. Especially because their skin is so fragile though.

Adults are soft and fluffy and warm and just oh so cuddleable... until they urinate on your hand and your favorite pair of pants

Yeah, our teacher had two white mice. We named them Brains and Rosy (but turns out that Brains was the female and Rosy was the male). They had 8 pinkies which were adopted by some middleschoolers and highschoolers, and then when the school year ended Brains and Rosy were sent to our highschoolers for lab experiments (without them dying ofc)

Although by now all of them have died from natural causes, RIP Brains and Rosy (Actually... when they died, they were put in jars with liquid so their bodies are still preserved in the lab to this day)

You should avoid browsing any of my YouTube channels to preserve your sanity. And yeah, all rodents eat some of their babies. In fact, the ones I'm sharing in this thread are the survivors of the initial cannibalism. The black mouse that had the older babies had one albino that I was so stoked about until she decided that it was either too weak or too delicious to survive. Was kind of a bummer until this second litter came along the next day and the brown mouse had two albinos she decided were worthy of living.

You mean how you can see the eyes through the sealed eyelids? Yeah. I'll admit they're a little weird while they're still "pinkies," and they have this transparent pink skin where you can see their veins and stomach through it and all. Essentially like an embryo.

Today, some of the older ones are already just starting to develop pigment, and their fur will be coming in a few days. Also judging by the eye color of some the babies (because I can see their eyes through their skin lol) I believe some of the babies will be developing an orange/ginger coat of fur.

I once found a wild mouse baby in the speaker of my partner's amp. He had been crying all night long and I don't think the momma was going back to it. I tried so hard to keep him alive but he ended up fading away. u^u

Actually, to re-visit this question since I've been holding them more, I'd have to say they feel rubbery. My snakes are softer/silkier.
I love how warm and fluffy they get full grown though, so there's still hope if you want to call it that. lol

They're getting bigger, and pigment is coming in. Now they look like tiny hippos. The older litter is on the left; younger on the right:



And recessive genes. Two piebalds and the single albino!



P.S. The other albino was a runt, and to spare it a miserable life and short death since most runt mice do not survive - especially in large litters - it was culled.
