I rarely do.

I use it to minimize chat tabs when talking to several people from another tribe. The tabs are not bad per se and limits public spam from our side.

Chat channels have so many arguments, and it scares me... I tried to bring peace once, but everybody practically formed a riot against me and I became very sad. :(
