What are your thoughts on Username Tags?

Honestly, I think the only people who will get the names copied, not "stolen" are "famous" people like Youtubers, Ppl on top100 or Nicks with 3-4 letters. The rest of us normal players will not have the names copied. For example I doubt anyone copying the name saltydonutz (a person i saw somewhere). And if someone still copy ur name, you will hardly know, because the chances of you meeting in the same room are very small

I like my username being unique y'a know? I get that people are running out of users but I don't see why they couldn't systematically delete accounts

What if the person wants to replay the account she created at 8 years ago? She will not be able to play because the acc was deleted, and that would be unfair.

Definitely not a good idea. I am gonna lose my mind if they add the new name changing system. If people are really out of ideas for usernames, they have to get creative and come up with something original. I, myself, do not want to be impersonated, and I believe no one does.

I haven't really seen this said somewhere but I really do not like how the tag system is set up for staff members. There are a lot of players who do not know the full existence of every staff role so I think having their tag numbers set up in this particular system will just be more confusing than good because these numbers do not help identify which group is which when someone has never heard of a sentinel before, they will just question why their tag is #0015 rather than immediately knowing "Oh, he is a sentinel" and getting on with their day.

Another reason that I do not like this system is due to the fact that the tag numbers will ultimately start to blend over time because they're too similar to the rest of the playerbase; the staff tag system uses very low numbers so it won't be immediately separated from those with a #0000 tag or even other tag numbers depending on how low the administrators will allow the algorithm to make. I want something immediately recognizable such as #Sentinel or #Mapcrew. Another good example would be #S801 or #M801 due to the fact that letters will not be available to anybody else, which is a good way to differentiate staff from a regular player since colors can only be seen on their profiles or in-game after the update goes live.

The update hasn't come out yet. But some people have said that the update will come out later today or on Monday.

Would be a good idea, but they way they deliver it seem to be poorly executed.

I'll stick with my suggestions of adding more symbols and increasing the avaliable lenght a little instead of this tag system.
It just ... doesn't fit in a MMO game :/

To be honest I like the idea of a free name change ... But it would be unfair for those who spent 15 or more bucks on it previously. At least give them refunds or something-

I would really like to change my username, but it's a bummer there's a bunch of complications, so I'm not too sure if this update is necessarily a good idea..

i personally spent 1500 fraises for a rename on another account and i don't feel like it's being unfair
however i totally understand those who share this feeling of unfairness, especially those who renamed more than once.

i like the idea of being able to choose the name you want but it will be obviously be full of impersonations considering how the community can be

this doesn't fit a game where you literally have to interact with others, unlike discord where you can just sit and never meet other people who share the same name as you do (and they won't be tempted to steal yours and impersonate you with it)

kinda neutral about it. a lot of benefits, a lot of drawbacks, i don't know what to choose. yet i'll prepare to rename all my alts
