Because some kids thinks Tranfromice is for the kids, It's clearly wrong that exactly for 13+ teenagers and adults of their age. that why kids come to play Tranformice like a Club Penguin. It's pretty drive crazy

Age is but a number.

To me, swearing is unnecessarily for anyone of any age. Being older doesn't place you above others in maturity, nor does it grant you the right to freely swear. Swear words gain their negative connotation from observing how its used by others.

And I am pretty sure that I had already posted on this thread somewhere, but even if Transformice is not meant for children, they are the audience that it appeals mostly to.

I would like to remind everyone that it's 13+ recommended and not 13+ only.

Lying about age isn't that hard either.

I'm 12 and I am not like "Stop swearing I'm 8! Like I give a shit about the chat!", I actually act like most of the other players of Transformice.

I disagree. There are kids of 5 years old that knows more insults than our.
I think you're undervaluing the capacity of some childs.
I know that maybe are annoying, but we all go trought that age.
If a child that have 8 seens a game of mouses and magic powers, he automatically wants to play it.

they should, or they should at least be monitored or looked after by their parents to make sure they're safe online.
they shouldn't be roaming the internet freely because who knows what they may get themselves into.

13 years old children are not as small as you would think. I think that this age threshold is too hight. Change it to 10 would be good. We should remember that they can write false age and this limit could cecrease Atelier's earnings.

Well it depends on the kid because if they don't want to swear then don't play this game. But if they don't know that this game was for 13+ before then still don't play it if you don't want to.

I agree on the OP where it says that Transformice should make it more clear about the age...recommendation, as it can be described now.....
BUT. There are a few people who are quite mature for their age. As a few people above have mentioned it, age is just a number; it's more of the maturity level that we should look for.

I think people are more pissed about the kids that come from Animal Jam, because that's where the majority of players who say "don't cuss im 7!!!!!" come from. They're used to chat being sugarcoated by a filter and the only thing they look out for is scammers. In Transformice, it's much, much more...

Well, unfortunately, as with what a lot of people have said: It's easy to fake your age. But putting as a chat filter would help a lot, kids will still chat. It's fun, a great way to pass time, and overall just new stuff appeals and opens up to them. Considering the kids might start swearing themselves, there's not much you can do about that (swearing themselves along with other people). I also think that if that did occur to TFM Staff, they would make it like all the other sites do: "You must be 13 years or older to play this game. Please sign to the Terms of Agreement/Service Policy, blah blah blah, enter your age here--" And there would be an option to pick 13 years old, and up, only. But STILL people would fake their age. There's not much you can do to stop that, unfortunatley. I just hope all that nasty stuff dies down. Swearing is fine, it's the usual. We just don't need people posting links of nasty stuff kids could click on. Swearing has a filter, too, so kids could easily use that. Nice thread though.
