time to go and get a potion that probably wont work

all the potions that have like a 5% chance of working are like 500 fc not worth it
plus all the ones that have a higher chance are extremely expensive and im trying to save up for a new villager

Did your villager become sick? That happened to me once when my villager became sick. It usually cuts the explorations in half, and sometimes it goes to the negative numbers if you've already used some before they became sick.

all seeds start at a 50% chance and the chance raises by 5% with each successful harvest until it reaches 100%, at which point it's considered mastered, so you're not any more or less likely to successfully harvest a super rare seed you've never grown before vs. a common seed you've never grown before, you'll just likely master common seeds quicker b/c the seeds are easier to get by exploring + shorter wait time to harvest
