To be honest, I dont really like anime.

In my opinion, Umineko, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, Fate/Zero, Hyouka, Shinsekai Yori, and Steins;Gate are the best. I can't really choose one since many different types types of anime are good in their own genre, and it's hard comparing one completely different genre from another.

I seen all of those except umineko and fate/zero. Is umineko good, and why is it good? For fate/zero I am confused how I shoudl watch it. Apparently newer series were a pre-story and happend before the original one, or should i just watch it in order of airing?

for umineko, watch higurashi no naku koro ni first, as the stories are connected somewhat; umineko and higurashi are full of gore; im still waiting for part 2 of umineko as the story was left somewhere in the middle and its very frustrating

for fate/zero, watch fate/stay night first as it is sequel prequel for fate/zero (it came out first but is the sequel to zero); zero and stay night are full of historical figures and action; stay night is boring as shit but zero is one of my favorite animes of all time

or yes, just watch them in order of airing

Chronologically speaking Fate/Zero came first then the events of fate/stay night. I recommend watching the fate/stay night series first so you could understand some of the things represented in fate/zero automatically, like the characters that will appear later.


Umineko is more of a murder mystery type. The story is basically about a guy called Battler where he battles the witch, though the battle is more of a thinking one that a physical one. The goal of Battler is to disprove that the witch used magic to kill the people, and use logical reasoning to back his conclusions. If he does succeed, he can get out of the island. The anime might be too graphic for other people, as it involved the guy’s family being killed over again and again…

Just going to throw this out there - Umineko's anime is not great. The VN or at least the manga are way way better.

Yeah, the VN is usually better than the anime adaptation. While the VN is good, in my opinion I think the adaptation wasn't really bad either.
