I can't stand most "pro" players. The other day I got made fun of by a few of them because I politely asked them to stop making racist jokes.

Ifrancesco a dit :
Not really, it's true that most of the players from BR "visiting" other servers are annoying. But there are a lot of really nice players in BR.

Er... Not a lot.
Normally the good ones access the Forum too, or are over 15 years old. Yea.

Usually I'll see the shams get picked on by the other players that are either like in the high like 50-whatever or 10-40 like those people pick on the shams just for being a level 1 and new to the game like don't forget you were their level once too so at least let them try and like the players trying divine or are new to divine like they get picked on too for doing bad in something they just got introduced to you should know that you were once or still are like that so don't pick on them like just give them a hand offer to help them the best you can help make them better just be a nice person unlike all the other people

ITT: People posting bad encounters they had with random casual players and not even necessarily about pros.

To be honest, most pros I've met are actually really quiet. The ones with bad attitudes are the statpadders. It's mainly them calling us noobs, with the other pros just entering the hole without complaint or dying.

like a lot of others have said, pro players aren't the only ones that have bad attitudes. honestly, a lot of pros that i see in-game are generally quiet and don't speak in the chat. i see a lot more benign players who are pro than players who are novices.

if a pro player is rude, it's just the type of person that they are. just because someone is a pro or a novice at the game doesn't automatically mean they're the type of person that has a bad attitude.

Jacobbbbbbb a dit :
No, just no. It doesn't matter if you have a good profile or not; it's how you act and how you present yourself that defines you as a person. You can have 500 firsts and still be as rude as somebody with 50k firsts.
Of course, there are some people that have an irritating ego due to their 'good' profiles, but that's just a part of who they are - which is obviously not appealing.

i basically agree with everything that jacobbbbbbb has said above.

There are a lot of nice people too, just tell them that not everyone starts as a pro and stay friendly. They will be friendly if its a nice person if not they have a bad day or they are just stupid done.

I'm surprised to see this topic still active. Anyways, you can always put some people on ignore if they give you a hard time. If they are harassing you, just report a mod. Some people say I'm pro, but I don't think I'm qualified for that title anyways. That's if I have 100k firsts. I'm near 4k so good enough for me. I try my best at least and just watch more experienced players play and adapt from there. Hell, I'm trying to bring my Divine saves up a bit.

However, I can be quite quirky if I feel things are heating up too much just to break the ice. I am sarcastic and slightly cynical at times when I think it's appropriate. Reason why some are a bit snooty is probably to rub their egos a bit and shatter others self-esteem "Learn to Wall jump noob", "You cant evn climb noob." "if you cant play right, you are a retard" along with some more...unsavory comments.

Either way, it depends on how you react and approach these types of things.

Well, some people don't realize it's a game. I mean, come on, starting a pointless fight because someone can't "wall-jump" on a fucking virtual game. Get a life.

Okay, I agree the attitude from them because it that makes the game more cool.
It aren't every player that offends the noobs by trollin' (g), the one thing more idiot to know is see dumb players saying "first's hack" as anythin' (g).

Pro players have a good attitude (but nor every pro players, just some pro players).

Being a pro myself I can confirm not all pros have a bad attitude, it just depends on the person.

Well, I guess some of them think they have too high stats to talk to other people

In this case, just don't talk to him/her, that's not an interesting person anymore

i agree that some, not all, "pro" players can have a sense of entitlement and superiority, the obnoxiousness of which goes far beyond the likes of almost anything i have ever seen, read, or heard in what is most likely my entire life.

the truth is, it's part of human nature to gloat, brag, or even just feel a sense of pride, entitlement, or the feeling that you are above consequences whenever you have something pleasant that others don't.

tl;dr: yes it is annoying but it's human nature to be that way.

Sabusha a dit :
It always depends on the player. If someone is a good person and they have good stats at the same time, they might not going to be rude. Not everyone acts that way, and honestly, this kind of behavior is more rare than usual, in my opinion. I've noticed 'pros' tend to be more quiet in rooms.

Exactly this. I'm not sure if I would consider myself a pro? But I've had an account with pretty decent stats and I'm currently on my second account with decent stats I guess. We don't really have much to say. Just because a shaman says 'pro it' doesn't mean that, they, themselve's are pro. it just means for you do it. And calling someone a 'noob' is certainly common. I think you just took it the wrong way.

I agree with this discussion and it's topic all the "pro" players don't really like the new players they always pick on them because of their skill, this especially happens when there are wall jump puzzles in the levels and the new players don't know how to do that, this also almost always happens when newer players become the shaman.
