Yes I have to admit the art style really did matter to me, maybe that's the reason I couldn't stand it much time. But if the story is interesting and doesn't follow clichés like hell, then it must be quite amusing to watch, nothing against.

It matters to me too but I always quite liked Detective Conan's... Eh, I guess it depends on your art preference.
And, yeah, it's a shame the art put you off it. You could always read some of the novels released by the creator for it, they're every bit as good.

I can't recall where I got to; my friend has the entire collection on DVD, but I haven't been able to borrow it for some time.

Fair enough. I probably will continue watching it anyway, if only to see ulquiorra since I saw a few clips of him and he seems like a really cool character imo.

I have this weakness for online reading.. I know that "if I enjoy anime/manga/etc related stuff that much why don't you even bother reading" but I can't stand it most of times. I'd rather buy the actual books (manga, light novel, etc), I have more fun having them on my hands.
