Personally, I don't understand why victims of bullying don't tell anyone they're being bullied. In 6th grade, two boys use to tease me a lot(I'm not sure if they were really bullies or just idiots). The third day of teasing, I told my parents AND teacher, even though they warned me not to. Pfft, they turned out to be two scared chicks, and they immediately stopped teasing me. They were actually NICE to me!
I mean, yea, some people are scared that they might get bullied een more if they told someone, but I see it pointless. It's better to build up courage and speak up than regret it later.
Also, why would someone SUICIDE because of bullies?!?! Life is amazing, they shouldn't let some retarded bullies take it away.
If I was truly bullied, I'd speak up to my teachers and parents, and eventually change schools, but I'd NEVER do something as crazy and nonsense as suicide!

You don't know for what reason people kill themselves, so please don't act like you do. Life isn't "amazing" for everyone.

A lot of people are afraid to speak up due to retribution, you're right. It's also a fear of not being believed ("you're just making it up for attention!") and et cetera. It's a lot deeper than you think.

Good to know you were courageous enough to speak up buddy, but not everyone is like you and is in the same case as you (problem solved, befriend bullies, happy ending and stuff)

Did you actually consider how lucky you are that :
- Firstly you can speak up
- Adults cared about you
- Bullies were actually nice

I believe bullies ain't bad persons, I'm sure they are also going through bad things in their lifes but you know, when you have no one to help you out you can :
- Become a bully to feel better about yourself
- Blame everything on yourself and cry (which can lead to suicide for various reasons like depression)

Sometimes adults believe you might lie to get attention (like Haru said) or they actually don't give a shit and tell you things like "they do that because they like you and want to be your friend" (my ass ye)
Your mates can also ignore bullying situations because they don't want to be involved or hurt themselves
Bullies can get revenge because they ain't all that nice anyway

I've been contemplating if I should post on this thread for a while and it's time I finally say something

If you see someone sitting alone or getting picked on, talk to them. As difficult as it may be due to social awkwardness or whatever, it can seriously save a life. I owe the fact that I'm alive to one great friend of mine.

Advice for vocal bullying is learn to accept it. If someone calls you a "faggot who was a failed abortion", just allow it to happen and accept what is coming at you. It is an amazing life skill as bullying never stops. The sooner you get used to it, the better.

If it's physical, either learn self defence or just be able to get away from the bully quickly and smart. If it requires you to surrender, like giving money, so be it. It's better than having physical trauma. Unless it's something that you can control and wont escalate, ie. he wont come to you at a later date beat your brain dead, tell your teachers, parents AND your principle. Getting him in trouble is the best thing you can do, as he will learn good from bad.

If you are being ganged on, I'm afraid the only suitable option is self defence. If you are smaller than them, be able to get out of grabs, and be fast enough to outrun the bullies. If you're about the same height, run away try to fight back if you can. Priority is running. If you're taller, I don't know how to help you. Main advice is to avoid walking alone, try to find a group of friends to walk with if this is happening on school grounds. If it's outside school, just take the uncommon path, OR take the extremely polluted area with people to avoid their collision. If neither are aplicable, try getting your parents to pick you up. And calling the police is a suitable option if it's outta school.

No. When this happens, you stand up for yourself. My advice is to either contact an adult or discuss the matter with someone who you trust. 'Allowing it to happen' is probably the worst thing you can do, IMHO.

And judging by a quick little visit to your profile, I wouldn't say that your advice is accommodating enough for it to be taken.

I'm a TOTAL snitch in school, I only got bullied once, and for the dumbest reason EVER: they didn't like my pants -_- As I said above, I quickly told my parents and teachers about it, they took action and bullying stopped. Now nobody messes with me because of my snitchy personality O3O

And cyberbullying... Let's face it, it will never stop. I occassionally get "cyber"bullied, but we both end up in a heated argument full of cussing and shit. I'm NOT that kind of person who lets shit happen, I dont take shit. Nobody fucks with me.
