Anomunus a dit : Cheers to you my friend. I'm going to say yes to the dictionary chat idea, but hear me out. There are a few reasons. First of all, this is going to prevent something that has been bugging not only me, but a bunch of players. There are a bunch of reused players that have been used to advertise fake and cheated Atelier801 games, mainly Transformice. Free strawberry currency, and free cheese. Yes, I know we can report these players, and 801 normally shuts down these cloned sites. However, they keep returning. If we restrict the chat, it will prevent these advertisements of those cloned games, and players will never be able to be tempted to join the fake site. What I'm claiming, is that players who have not played for a while will need to regain this privilege of speaking freely in the chat. For those who dislike the idea of one of their accounts losing this, I can't guarantee this, but I believe that if 801 would implant this, it would be dealt through the player's IP address, so you wouldn't have to regain the ability to speak in chat as long as your IP has already been trusted. The next reason is similar to what Anomunus said. We continuously see jokes over racism, abuse, sexism, rape, politics and the list goes on, and what I've discovered is that this community is sometimes unable to sustain their maturity and involve themselves into these jokes whether if they find it funny or believe justice has to be served. Now I'm not saying this would easily be prevented from happening, but it would help avoiding situations whereas moderators always need to advise the chat. "This game is 13+." Unfortunately, that 13+ rules hasn't been stopping players who are underage or don't have the maturity to handle the community. And nearly everyday, we still see people unable to handle the chat and begin nonsense. "Just ignore them and report them!" Do you honestly think all the players who dislike another player immediately just ignore them? From what I've seen, anyone who has claimed to have ignore a player always seems to reply to them, or have another one of their friends take their position in the argument. I'm not saying people don't use the ignore option, but the majority of the time it just doesn't occur. Yes, we can report them. But we need to think about the staff for a minute. They're human too, and it's not their job to babysit us. Yes, it's their job to moderate the game and keep things in check, but we shouldn't have to have one in every room at all times making sure we're behaving. If we have less people complaining about inappropriate stories, we won't have to force our staff to work their asses off. I've said enough for now, mainly because I've already made a storm about my position and because I doubt people are willing to read all of that. And yes I am aware of 801 having to create an entire dictionary system and who it will effect, how this will annoy people but they will condition to this, and probably able to throw myself at anyone who counters me. I'll save this for another day and annoy you all later. "This isn't Animal Jam!" Come on now, why are we still comparing ourselves to a game we aren't. We'll still be able to swear and whatever else you fear will probably still sustain. And you can't act as if people have never bypassed Animal Jam's chat filter as well. |
