The tabs are at least half the size, and are squished all the way at the top of the screen (Unless it's always been the latter). The font sizes have been cut in half a bit too.

Like quitting the program entirely but now that I think of it I think that's how you restart programs on non-mac computers so I am probably not the person to be giving advice on these sorts of things...sorry.

Wait have you tried ctrl+0, it resets the browser size back to default. I know sometimes I accidentally shrink the text size because holding ctrl and scrolling the scroll wheel will change it which is really annoying. (If you're on windows, I wasn't really following the conversation, though macs and linux OS's do have ctrl key shortcuts (I think) so it would still work.)

Usually when I accidentally zoom in it gives me a little pop-up if I'd like to revert back to normal, which might be the same for zooming out? I can't remember. Though that has nothing to do with Chrome's recent update. The "default" size is what's messed up. I have to keep a site like this zoomed

o I use firefox, forgot you said you used chrome so I dunno what their recent update was

EDIT: google told me that other people are reporting text size issues in Chrome 37 and something with DPI scaling (I didn't really read up on it much) but it's supposed to be intended, idk sounds kinda weird
