It's July 8th now. I think registration might be open in the morning but close in the noon? Here's what it said on the Twitter when it was first opening:

So, it opened at noon on July 1st. So, it should close at noon today.

registration should end in about 30 minutes, so if you've planned on signing up do so now

It looks like they didn't end up wiping the game. They didn't confirm anything on their Twitter or on the news announcements.
