Just last week my father had to reboot our house computer due to one random virus that somehow randomly appeared; it hasn't been on any suspicious websites so I have no clue what happened.

All two (or three, can't remember) of my first computers died from viruses (from just trying to play Roblox... no wonder why I've never downloaded it again), so yeah, I've dealt with a number of them in general.

Those FBI pages look pretty scary, I hope I don't receive them any time in the future. My current laptop's also getting kinda slow, I hope it doesn't end up dying soon.

I used to have a lot of PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs) but I managed to clean them out somehow.
They were all in Russian, strangely enough.

I had two Trojans on my PC. I remember that AVG was so serious about getting rid of them.
When i think about it, maybe the computer did fall to the virus that blocks your internet, because i wasn't able to access anything

Fbi pages thing is pretty much bunch of bullshit, cause they wouldnt bother in the first place cause they have better things to do apart asking to like 'pay to them' etc.

My favorite is getting pop-up warnings that my "Windows operating system" has detected a virus... When I have a Mac... "Contact mircosoft to solve this problem!!!!!!!!!" LOL *clicks the x button and blocks/reports url*

I've used Norton Internet Security AND AVG for ~8 years, and in that time I have not gotten any severe, device crippling viruses that were not caught by either program. I also use a combination of three ad-blockers in my broswer, and I readily block and report any suspicious urls and/or popups. Norton products for the past 1-2 years have included identity protection, and I have identity theft protection from my university. I'd rather pay $80 a year to protect my system and my family members computers (mom, dad, brother, boyfriend), then have to buy a new device or lose my data because of a system wipe to reset up an OS.

In 10-14+ years I've had 4 laptops, which all end up suffering critical hardware failures within 2-3 years from their purchase date, and that had nothing to do with viruses or other types of malware. Almost five years ago I bought my imac, and it has outlived and out-performed any of my previous computers.
