haruhitastic a dit :
It sounds like you lost consciousness due to blood loss. You didn't die.
I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have been able to revive you.

So basically, your idea of death is based on being unconscious.

You do know people being revived by medical science is pretty common right, you just need to die within a certain time, after death you have so or so time to be saved before you can't come back, at least without problems. People even use this with extreme surgery cases.

Death is basically the same as passing out in this way, you die, then if your brought back it's like a snap of the finger because you don't remember any of it.

Also, because I had an inch sized hole in my forehead, I'm pretty sure it was death. Also, they kept me in there for a few days, it wasn't some regular pass out, it was death.

safwanrockz a dit :
"Die" doesn't simply mean "lose senses" or "pass out". "Die" means stop living eternally, you can't simply die then live again.

I didn't say that's the definition of death, I said that's what happens, death is when your brain stops working, you can indeed live again, you just need the help of a surgeon quickly after death.

There are people that claim to see an afterlife before being revived though, so it can go either way, Chris.

I believe the soul lives on.

Clinical death; when your heart stops beating and blood circulating. The state where you can still be brought back to life. I highly doubt your heart stopped, because you knocked yourself unconscious and your skull got fractured. So no, you weren't dead.

agree w spin, there have been a handful of others that have claimed to have visions and come back so eh

the rational mind would believe in a higher power to be safe bc you either win everything at no risk

doubters suffer eternally but if they're right they cant rly brag bc they're dead sO

Maybe you see what you want to see when you die?

I believe in evolution, and what follows that belief, is you only have one life. Only one chance to make things right. If you are good, you'll go to heaven, where you don't feel a thing, see a thing, if you are bad, you go to hell. Where it's a never ending nightmare. I believe in ghosts, so I think if you are bad, instead of going to hell, or heaven, you stay on earth. Lost in your own soul, trying to find a way out of earth.

When you sleep, and you don't have a dream, you feel absolutely nothing. You smell nothing. You hear nothing. That's what death feels like.

When you drown, you can't breathe. If you don't breathe, your heart eventually stops beating. But that's why someone created a way to make your heart beat again. It's the same with everything. I forgot what the name of that is though... O.o
I know it in German, but how-to-spell-it... O.o

Velocemus a dit :
just clarifying beliefs dont require evidence to be valid, hence belief

doitsudoitsu a dit :

You see a watch on the ground and decide to pick it up. The watch is transparent and you can see all its complex workings. Most likely you would think to yourself that someone had dropped the watch and that it was crafted by someone. You wouldn't assume it magic'd itself out of nothing. Therefore, is it not logical to assume the universe was also created by someone?
I believe it is more likely that a higher being or beings crafted the laws of physics and mathematical principals that are present on Earth and on other planets rather than the planets simply making these and themselves out of chance.

gr8 design theory/analogy but the most this can confirm is of an architect being since a watchmaker doesnt make his parts simply from nothing, its "crafted" out of pre-existing material lol

@mousechris did u believe in an afterlife before ur accident?

oh hey thanks
I see your point but it still means it's likely that we were created by something higher than us, for reasons I said before, but just that they used their materials - perhaps that they can make out of spiritual energy (or whatever you want to call it) that's beyond our understanding. I didn't word it quite right when I said "out of nothing"; I didn't mean to say I thought that our creator also made us out of nothing, so I do agree with you there. It's improbable we were put into existence out of nothing at all, created or by chance.

edit: I'm doitsu btw, this is an alt account

I think after death will just be a forever dream.

When you dream you think, and you can't think if you are dead, so i think it's very different

This is really cool to see all these enlightening opinions without a religion/flame war. I personally believe in life after death, and God chooses whether or not you go to heaven. What i don't believe in is doing "good" things just to "get in to heaven." I believe that you do good because you want to make others happy, not because you want to make it into heaven. I believe we don't "choose" for ourselves but God does.
