If you read the "Features" on http://societe.atelier801.com/sheet.php?p=deadmaze, it actually seems like it could be interesting... I do feel $10 is a bit much; I'll probably play it, but I'll mostly likely wait for a sale / for them to lower price point.

I'm hoping instead they just have a permanent trial version (maybe only x% of the single-player version).

Basically, no access to the shop, no access to premium features, no access to levels.

Some information on the whole "pay to play" situation. At least we'll be able to try the game out so it's got that going for it, though I'm not sure how I feel about it just yet.

Bleh, I don't like that they're releasing the beta-keys through social media either.

the image in the OP looks like a sims 1 screenshot, kek. the second screenshot in the official announcement looks like a shitty dofus/wakfu screenshot. i don't know what to think.
also, i don't think it's a good idea to make it p2p given how the other games flop'd while being f2p.

$9.99 really isn't that much considering most commercial games nowadays release for 6 times that price. Just because Transformice works as a free-to-play browser game doesn't mean the same business model is the best for every game.

This game has a completely different style than Atelier's other games. Not only does it have a different business model but it doesn't seem like a browser based game, has a completely different aesthetic, and nowhere near the same kind of small and quick gameplay that the other of their games have. No-one knows if it'll be a success yet, but it'll be interesting nonetheless.

Personally, i think depends on how people can pay for it
We'll obviosly have the option to pay for it via steam, but i'm wondering if there will be other payment options available

I personally love that it's solo an multiplayer; which along with all their other things shows they really plan on putting some effort into this (hopefully continuos effort as well).

What I want to hear about now is the customization, that's always one of my favorite parts.
