We at Unstalkable don't do Applications, we either do invitations, or an interview. An invitation is basically, we've seen someone, know them, and want them in, they don't have to do anything to get in, they just have to say yes. And they can invite people too, everyone invited is checked out before they get a rank so it really doesn't matter. But if they're inviting people who don't meet our requirements, they could get in trouble. With an interview, it's normally someone else who wants in, or someone who doesn't necessarily fit the reqs, but we're considering them. In an interview, we ask about how active they are, if they don't meet the reqs, we want them at least online so the tribe isn't dead. We also ask about age, anyone younger than 12 would normally not be accepted but we have invited a few kids, typically though the age is 16+ and this is because we don't have a set limit on what is said in chat, just no 18+ images, we have a forum section for the laughing idea of that, which is literally just filled with raw chicken images and weird stuff the tribe thinks is funny. Lmao We ask about timezone too, we don't care specifically but we wanna know for other members, active timezones = happy members We also ask about what they can do for the tribe personally just as something they already do, for example, do they draw? cool maybe they can do art, do they make maps? maybe they could make some tribe houses, do they forum a lot? they could keep our tribe thread active. Anything the tribe could benefit from, we'd love to hear about, because were interested in spreading out. We also ask about what rank name they want to be, yes, that's right, here we let you choose your rank name, you'll have all the same powers, but it's a different name, some really don't care, but many love the idea. While we talk, we pay attention to what you say and how you say it. for example, is your humor the humor of a 3 year old? nope, not getting in, do you seem positive with what you're saying? Sure and finally, we just wanna make sure you at least can speak English, even just understandably, and I mean loosely understandably, we really don't care, people come from Russia, China, US, Mexico, Brazil, honestly everywhere from this tribe, so as long as you understand me, and I understand you. "I care not you if speek this because it ok i understand" :) we just don't allow foreign language in the chat, like, a little is ok, we don't mind, but if you literally converse in say spanish in the chat, you'll get a warning, because we need to understand you, by we, I mean the leaders. |

your "interview" process is an application process that happens in real time, that's all it is. |

not exactly, it's similar but in an interview you get to basically read their emotions better imo, better than just reading answers off a question paper, gets you a real idea of who youre inviting |

As the person behind the applications for my tribe, I hope I can shed some light on the reason behind why some of the upper tribes have them. My tribe originally went on a simple vote on letting someone join based on whoever was online as we try to keep things as democratic as possible. Typically these votes only lasted about a day and we stored them on the announcement. As our tribe got larger and more popular, there were more people that wanted to vote, and more people that wanted to join. It came to the point at around rank 30 so about 2-3 months after the tribe started that we needed to make a switch to something else as people were starting to get annoyed with a massive jam of the announcement and loads of people getting on the vote despite nobody really knowing who they even were. Having people do applications and send them via CFM which was implemented as a feature at right about that time was a great solution for us to do. Having interviews was simply not feasible as the leaders would then be spending every moment of their time on this game doing them instead of playing(not fun.) Making the only requirement be three friends in the tribe ensured that only people who have a decent shot of passing go on the vote and helped slow down the applications. After we get the application in, it is just a matter of a certain group of people in the tribe (mainly the tribe shamans) to read through them and verify which ones check out and can be voted on. It turned out to be a great decision to do and worked perfectly at keeping the amount of people wanting to join manageable during the year or so that The Furry Revolution was sitting at rank 1 on the leaderboard. We were getting around 10 or so applications a day. Doing anything besides and application would have led to either a tribe with hundreds of strangers, or leaders spending all the time on interviews and making all the decisions for the people in the tribe which is what we don't want at all. So far the system we made years ago has worked and hasn't needed any changes really at all since we started it. Its a fair system that involves the whole tribe and keeps the group of people that we vote on to be people that we know from the game. Applications just simply work very well for big popular tribes and help keep everything at a manageable manner and lets your leaders actually be able to play the game. |

my tribe ( Phan and Memes ) literally only consists of 3 active people, one of them being me. we don't do tribe applications though, maybe if we got bigger as a tribe we would, since we wouldnt want anyone just joining because we'd be a well known tribe. but for now, no applications for our tribe. |

eternalcool a dit : I agree, whereas there is only 11 in your tribe. In general, for bigger tribes, they probably need applications to maintain the standard of the tribe, otherwise it could cause too many people being in the tribe and other problems. |

Haruhitastic a dit : You have a point in how few differences there are, mostly just the fact that it occurs in real time and as Chris said you tend to get a better read on them while it happens (especially if it is out of the blue). Obviously an interview solution will hardly work for larger tribes, such as The Furry Revolution etc. Given Unstalkable's dynamic though, it seems like the perfect fit. Some good points made in relation to that. |

My tribe isn't large, but applications help a lot due to being able to filter out people more closely to suit our tribe. It does restrict the overall feeling of friendliness because I've gotten a few comments that it felt like a business application, haha. |

Sarkazm a dit : If my tribe ever gets large enough I actually plan to hire people as interviewers, because I still don't like the idea of applications, just doesn't have a more connective, family feel. Currently my tribe is ranked 200 on the API, and around 600 on CFM? idk haven't checked recently, and were doing pretty good, lot of members too, some not very active though. But the place feels very friendly because we all have a clear understanding of who we are. :] |

Personally, I find tribe applications ridiculous. Do players apply for a job here? Löl It is like writing a CV for a job application. :D Once I was invited for a mainstream tribe by the tribe leader himself, and he told me to write an application on the tribe's website. lmaö I told that I am too lazy for such stuff. I prefer joining tribes that have players I usually hang around with in the game. Namely, I like tribes for friendship rather than tribes for people of big ego, asking for an application etc. |

Tribe applications yeah they're ok for some tribes like of close friends but for just starting tribes should Like allow a few people in then like have applications so the tribe can all be friends after a while instead of all strangers that just were allowed in Just my opinion |

In my opinion, applications are a very good way to keep a tribe less chaotic. They help get an idea of who your inviting and if anyone knows the player and if someone has ever seen the person do something bad or be rude, you could at least be warned. In my opinion, tribes who just allow anyone could just get chaotic easily, |
