I find this new username system ugly ;-;

if you change your username to something that hasn't been taken, will you get the ugly combo of numbers next to it or #0000 (asking for a friend)

I don't really like the idea. I was someone who paid for a username change, and yes they give us a free new name change, it's like.. what's the point now? Our usernames just don't matter and aren't unique anymore. It takes away whatever identity your name had and now there will be more than just doubles of a ton of names. I'm not a fan of the idea. I get that usernames are "running out", but making everyone allowed to double and impersonate other users is a huge issue that this will inevitably open into, what with how awful a lot of the community is.

I liked being the only Iwillforget but now I might not be
On the other hand, I have two desired usernames I have thought of over a couple months so I'm excited to switch to that
Although I'm trying to send a confirmation e-mail through and I'm not GETTING ANYTHING and it's infuriating
edit: I'm only gonna switch if someone takes my username and so far I'm good

i'm pretty sure you will get the combo of numbers whether you do an original username or not.

wHAT KINDA TRASH IS THIS

I love it, but also hate it. I hate it because of the Cafe drama it's causing over how #0000 users are purebred and people with numbers are trash, but I love it because of the free username change. I was finally able to change my username for once!

i've got but one question

why is it that when someone whispers something to me, instead of showing their username, it shows
"< [02:38] [+Ukonv #0000] what"

opening whisper tabs just opens to my username

I'm fine with it but it annoys me when it's literally everywhere. I think it should just be in friendlist and not when someone logs in, in cafe, or in tribe. Luckily it's not there when someone says anything

this is not only a ripoff but a pretty bad one while at it. i think they could of used more brain cells when putting this together in consideration.

firstly of all its a fucking eyesore. use mod command - it looks worse, tag system is totally unnecessary, not to mention time to see some raise in unoriginality

secondly of all convenience wise this shit sucks. it only for me gives more headache, cause now i have to enter some sort of a #0000 bullshit when using watch command which is absolutely now disgusting, especially considering i use it everyday, and thats one of the few features as there is probably some bunch more affecting this with barely touching the surface.

thirdly of all this is just bold. you obviously cant see that a majority is not liking this, yet you are probably doing this so you can keep this hot shit running. of course you have some balls to straight off rip a key feature off of discord thinking that "this is it on what we wanted"

also have fucking fun fixing more tons of bugs with your implementation. were before whining you had few time - here have some more fixing dozens of bugs on a feature nobody asked. its just heads down ass up from here

I’m fine with it. The numbers has to go though.

The most of us know this feature was only implemented to favour Dead Maze players versus Transformice players, doing this to attract more users into Dead Maze with the freedom to be called what they like. I don't think adding a number system was the best thing across their multiple games.

Similar to Discord and Overwatch battletags, both platforms have number systems in place to allow users to have a "base username" through numbers, and allowing yourself to be named what you'd like. This system works beautifully in both these platforms, because the numbers don't end up being an eyesore, they don't show up in chats and remain just on your profiles.

I wish Atelier801 only made the numbers visible on profiles rather than cluttering whispers and tribe chat, that's my only real problem with this feature. I also wish Atelier 801 considered the opinions of their communities rather than pushing an update a lot of us weren't in favour for, the only reason most users liked it was for the free name change, which served as the perfect bait.

tl;dr: This number system wasn't that horrible of an idea, but was implimented in a bad way, and does not fit with Transformice at all.
