agh i have such a long list of favourites?? surprisingly, shinguuji is really high up on my favourites. he's probably 3rd for me, but i agree on gonta. i can't bring myself to like him, and i heard he has broken english in-game which is weird because he seems like a really smart dude and all. i don't even like kaito tho so please don't kill me

i mostly like korekiyo because of his backstory, which probably sounds strange but i could explain why if it would make any sense (i can almost guarantee it won't).

yeah, i did hear somewhere about gonta being raised by wolves, which might explain some of his tendencies and speech patterns and stuff. i think gonta definitely comes off as a sweet character, but he's not a favourite. not that i dislike him by any means, though

aw what the?? i think, for the most part, gonta seems like a completely harmless human being, and i think to some people he just seems too ordinary, in a sense? some of the ndrv3 characters, in particular, seem too boring for my liking. i'd at least want more canonical explanations of their backstories and why they act the way they do, or why they have certain tendencies or views on things.

ndrv3 aside, all of the games have their boring characters and i think i'd like them more if they were elaborated on further. some characters just die too quickly and we, in turn, don't learn much about them or they have negative traits that repel people, but i'm all for learning about characters before i decide i dislike them. when i say i don't like characters, i usually just mean i'm simply indifferent on them, and that my opinion could probably be easily swayed.

lmao i guess i'm rambling now but i like the mysterious and weird characters that either have really elaborate backstories that help shape them into who they are, or they have really vague ones that the fandom can only conclude by using headcanons and logical explanations. i'm a little picky with my characters, but i don't think i'm the only one with that sort of view; liking characters with an elaborate and interesting backstory or ones with vague ones that you have to kind of infer to understand. also, characters that are developed over time instead of just suddenly being introduced and it's, like, their entire wiki in one chapter

i preferred megumi for a number of reasons, but also bryce never seemed to focus on the fact that komaeda wasn't just insane. sure, he was screwed in the head and literally ill, but the way bryce voiced him just made him seem like that's all he ever was. in a way, i think megumi managed to point out that he was, in the beginning, a seemingly harmless guy that helped hinata.

maybe that's just how i see it, i dunno, but bryce never really did it for me. as soon as i heard nagito and makoto's japanese voice actor, i was hooked and love megumi tbh. vocal range is better, and overall, she somehow portrays them better in my mind. that probably makes zero sense, but my basic point is that i think megumi does a better job at having a tone that fits my mental image for nagito specifically

ehh, i see what you mean, though. i kinda like bryce's voice more for makoto but i do like the eeriness to ko's voice in the dub. i think i'm just more accustomed to megumi's voice and i have too strong of an opinion on bryce lmao

but, everyone's entitled to their own opinion, and if you like bryce, then that's fine. i don't hate him, but he's definitely not a fave in terms of voice actors for me tbh.

the drv3 cast has the shittiest boys lol most of them are made into boring, bland cinnamon roll baits and that's one of the huge reasons why i can't get into DRV3

the format repeats every other game in the franchise, i want whatever kodaka had before the making of the game that made him come up with such dense plots and mistreating of characters with great potentials.

there are sooo many bad things about DRV3 that i could go on about but i'd rather not, all i'm going to say is the first game is forever the most iconic and has the most human and realistic characters.

saihara is a fanboy when it comes to danganronpa, though. in his audition, he did mention wanting to be a murderer (in the spoilers i'll have parts of his audition that im referring to), and so did kaito (also in spoilers). saihara was, definitely, fans of danganronpa, though i'm not exactly sure if it's confirmed that kaito was actually a fan since he said he didn't want to "just participate in danganronpa".
