I'd say go ahead and watch II because I'm a hopeless romantic ball and We Are One + Love Will Find a Way are my jam but 1 1/2 is pretty much there for filler/background info.

I've yet to read the series of books and the thought alone that I hadn't still is very infuriating.

After twenty minutes into The Lion Guard I needed a break, I can't handle cub Kiara and Kion together when they maybe should have done that long ago when II was out.

However there's an hour long movie prior to the new series.
