Some fandoms of kid shows tends to be laughed at after awhile. Remember Sonic fans? We just have to ignore it and go on with our day. And even if we changed our name, those who gave bronies a bad name in the first place would only follow. You can't get rid of rabid fans that easily.

i don't think they're laughing at you, I think it's more they think that you're annoying because you try and shove down your fandom everywhere.

also, comparing your show to sonic is slightly wrong, since that show was extremely cheesy and terrible and I would say that FiM is better.

SANIC is the best show ever made, it blows MLP out of the water.

Again, rabid fans are the ones giving us a bad name by spamming ponies. Most of us keep to ourselves and our little fan forums. (And the sonic reference is because it's the only show I know of that went through similar hate.)
